I'm excited for you, my friend. This is the result I'd been hoping for. If I wasn't so swamped with work I'd have placed my order by now!

What's the time of shipment now? Three days from Germany to your doorstep?
It arrived! 4 days from shipping to my door. Was shipped Friday and just arrived.

FYI, I had read on Reddit that the reason USPS was having issues with packages from Estervals was that Estervals had gone to new labeling system for DHL that was incorrectly formatting State, City and Zipcode. I see the address in the labels on my package are indeed formatted incorrectly. The last address line of the first label is reversed: zipcode, city, state instead of city, state, zipcode. There is a second label which again is not only reversed, zipcode, city, country but also missing the state. See the attached pictures. No wonder USPS is sending some back.

I think if this were true the boxes wouldn't have made it as far as the local post office. My box was at my neighborhood post office. I'm friends with the guy who handles my route.

Whatever the reason, I'm glad they (USPS) are out of the picture and people are getting their tobacco in record speed.

How expensive was the shipping charge?
it was $78 for 7.4 pounds. Last time I ordered 7.9 pounds with the old shipping it was $53. Even with the increased shipping each 50gram of tobacco averaged $7.20 for tobaccos I truly enjoy.

Now that I confirmed shipping is working again I am going to heavily stock up this year on all my favorites. Prices have been going up. Many tins I would buy from Estervals for $12-13 are now $17 and up. I want to complete my celler this year.

I’m doing the same. Aiming to basically complete my cellar this year and then not worry about chasing stuff so much.

Wait and see they'll be soon reversing this their hasty decision
Yesterday I placed my last order with Esterval and everything went smoothly.

Today, out of curiosity, I tried, and it no, longer says that they do not ship to Spain.

Personally, seeing that other German websites do ship or so I have been told and I have been able to order tobacco without problems, I think that Esterval's decision does not stand or is a total nonsense in the EU.

Yesterday the OCU, the official national consumer organization in Spain, published the changes from July 1st, with emphasis on imports from countries outside the EU.

It clearly states that all have to pay the corresponding VAT and in the case of alcohol, TOBACCO and pharmaceuticals, the special rates to which they are subject.

Therefore, it is not at all forbidden to buy tobacco online, you just have to pay the corresponding taxes from July 1st. This can be complicated for sellers outside the EU as they will have to collect them and then enter them in the corresponding countries. .... This can make many websites outside the EU to stop selling tobacco to EU countries, let's hope not...

does anyone really think that the EU is going to allow companies from outside the EU to sell tobacco to us and those in the EU can not do it?...it does not make any sense...it would be clearly a grievance for all these entrepreneurs who sell tobacco in the EU to countries in the EU

So, my opinion, is that Esterval has not understood the new law well, the European market is not worth it (I doubt it) or it is because of the implementation of the transport companies, Fedex, DHL, UPS, TNT, etc...to prohibit any shipment of tobacco by these means.

this if it will affect buyers from outside the EU...because if a customs office notifies the transport company that it has detected a prohibited shipment .... then there can be problems and sanctions.

In Spain, you can not use these companies, but yesterday, the OCU, has made it clear that by postal service post if you can and even put the amounts in € to make the payment procedures for the purchase of tobacco.

It could well be that different countries have different rules to what can be ordered from abroad. We have an Austrian member here (forget the name) who said tobacco orders from abroad are forbidden in Austria.

I think a lot of opperations are flying under the radar, and chancing the very low probability of getting caught in the huge volume of EU mail that can only be spot checked, not customs checked.

I used to get my tobacco from the Danish Pipe Shop, and GQ tobaccos (UK), these doors closed 3 years ago. I got a friend who used to order from 4noggins all the time, that door closed years ago too.

Thanks for the updates Sir, also I suspect Credit card companies rules may have been affecting on Estervals these new shipping policies

It's odd, in estervals I am now given two options for shipping: German post (note not available for sending to my EU address), and DHL. I took a test order all the way to the end without hitting submit, didn't fire up any issues but I chose not to complete it.
when i complete the form it tells me that no shipping option is available to my country.

from DAN Pipe, received today
