Almost: the Savinelli had a nicer handle and the tip was rounded. These tippy points are an accident waiting to happen, at least in my hands.
You could get a pipe maker to add a briar, ebonite, or acrylic handle as well as bunting the tip with a metal file. Beats the hundreds of dollars that a fitsall goes for or you can use an oyster shucker or just sandpaper like many do.Almost: the Savinelli had a nicer handle and the tip was rounded. Take your pick:You could get a pipe maker to add a briar, ebonite, or acrylic handle as well as bunting the tip with a metal file. Beats the hundreds of dollars that a fitsall goes for or you can use an oyster shucker or just sandpaper like many do.
I keep forgetting to grab one of these: SP Low Country reamerI regret never having bought a Savinelli Fitsall pipe reamer.
I lose my pipe nail all the time. I'm thinking about buying a lighter with the tools build into it.I went so long without a tamper. About 10 years with my finger or a stick, then I upgraded to a golf tee. I finally bought a $1 horseshoe nail and guarded it like it was My Precious Ring.
Not embarrassing at all. Why pay a premium for a commissioned pipe when there are so many great factory pipes? Castellos are "factory pipes" and you can't do better than that.I have no commissioned pipes. Kind of embarrassing after all I have spent on factory pipes.
What about a tactical pipe pistol?
