Thanks for the advice guys. I wish I would have put it in two different jars so maybe part of it would be unaffected. I’ve had guaranteed mold on a C&D blend before, this does look different indeed.

Heres a photo of my Stonehaven with the plume:

Ok. So I guess the next question is why I never got an email on any of the alerts I set. I guess i am done with them.

It’s based on who was signed up for the in-stock notification first. I don’t know how many they send out each time. Maybe 500? Maybe however many items they get in stock. I’m not really sure. Either way, you’ll get an in-stock notification eventually. Try it out on one of their more common tobaccos - like Samuel Gawith. You’ll probably get a notification for those since there aren’t 3,000 people or so on the waiting list, like there are for Penzance.

Yeah, if 20,000 people set the alert for 100 bags of available penzance, they might only email the first maybe 100, possibly 200 to make it interesting and account for those who lost interest.

My B&M in Oregon charges $70 for a bag and $35ish for a tin. Excise tax here is 65% of wholesale, but there's more than tax in there. I can't say I blame them for wanting a profit.
Damn when I lived out there I could get a bag of Stonehaven at Rich’s for about $35 a bag. What part of Oregon do you live? I lived there in 2012 to 2014 but I became friends with a chap that worked there so he may or may not have hooked me up. He’d always hold the good stuff for me, he was a great friend to have.

Well, Rich's has upped its prices! To be fair, taxes have gone up too.

I’m pretty sure their “email me” function is a first come first serve sort of thing. You’ll get a email probably in a year or two for one of their drops. When your “number” comes up in the list of emails to send alerts too. That’s Atleast how i imagine it works.
Yes, I'm curious how their e-mail alert system works as well. I have gotten some alerts in the past, but not recently for anything. Example: Sun Bear. I was #547 on the list, but never got a message that it was in stock.

I emailed them. Got a full and helpful reply. It is as summarized earlier. The cut off the email notifications based on how many tins they receive to keep it manageable. Those who weren't notified move up the list for the next drop. So maybe I will get notified in a few years?

Very interesting. I had assumed it was a mass e-mail and then first come, first served. I guess this model makes sense, too. Do people that get the alert and buy then get removed and/or bumped down to the bottom then?
