So let me get this straight. When Leonard Wortzel, Brand Manager for Lane, Dunhill's US distributor, posts on PM that:
Here is what we know: BAT plans to cease trading Dunhill Pipe Tobacco in the U.S. in the next 12 - 18 months. The decision was the result of an internal BAT business review.
that is a feeling or a rumor and not a fact?
They're alternative facts.

Sable, as you can see I didn't quote what Mr. Wortzel has said but this one:
He went on to say that the salesperson seemed like he wanted to say something, but couldn't. He speculated that there was a buyout coming.
I was trying to say that I have felt the same thing, the guy on the phone wanted to say something, but couldn't. However those were my feelings, not the facts (like the feelings of that guy who had visited the shop). Because my feelings were not facts, but the words of the guy from Dunhill of London Tobacco, I quoted his words.
By the way, what Mr. Wortzel has said are facts indeed. I contacted BAT to end the rumors, but looks like there are rumors going inside them as well. We will just wait and see I guess. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Production has already ceased, so what you're seeing is likely warehoused:
