Hey, I paid $24 for that painting!

Actually no idea here. Most of his self portraits appear to face the way you are showing it, but even when facing this way he apparently "reversed" aspects of them, but always seemingly facing the way you are showing. I can't remember where I found that and it may well be not shown right wherever it was, but your question at least got me to read a little bit and it's interesting stuff.

I just sent an email to the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands, hopefully they’ll reply, I’ll keep you posted.

I am a newbie puke compared to Peck. He has a barn and transformed in the greatest man cave along with over 650 pounds of tobacco last I heard. He probably has 30-40 Michael Parks pipes.
Peck is in the top 1 % of when it comes to high dollar pipes and his cellar was built at the same time mine was. He could buy at huge quantities so when I found a great new tobacco I wouldn't tell him until i was done getting what I wanted. He did the same with me. We did share a few things but he was my biggest competitor. I remember him giving me the Brigham Klondike Gold, I gave him John Aylesbury Luxury Flake.

I am so glad I started my cellar when I did. I cannot believe it has been ten years. It has been a fun ride and mostly because of this site This place has the most knowledgeable people on the planet when it comes to pipes. Tobacco is another issue. That is too subjective to make definitive statements about it.

I've not done an inventory for years but have been in the hobby for decades. And I accumulated alot of tobacco (kinda shaking my head).

Went from a stack of tins in a bookshelf in my study, to a dedicated barristers bookcase, to a massive vintage metal file cabinet and many (many!) empty wood wine cases that are now filled and stored in rafters of my cellar.

Bonkers hobby...

It's a mishmash. Most of my tins end up in drawers.
