Does Anyone Dedicate Their Lighters to Certain Pipes or Blends?

I dedicate my dedicated lighter to the dedicated pipe that holds the dedicated tobacco that in turn dictates a level of dedication my unforeseeable amount of dedication has caused.

I smoke outside for the most part so I have one pipe Zippo. Bic for emergencies.

I dedicate my lighters in the following order:

1) zippo
2) forgot to get fuel and flint for zippo so bic
3) forgot to buy spare bic so any other lighter around the house
4) used up all the lighters so my wife goes to buy me one, but grabs matches as doesn’t want to look like a smoker
5) used up matches, back to 2) as still haven’t got a flint

I figured since I dedicate my pipes and tobacco, I should try dedicating my lighters as well. I think I will start with my morning lighters. I am thinking my 2 Pewter Pipemasters with the pipe shapes should go first. Next I am thinking one or 2 of my Pipemasters that have a wood side would be good for afternoon smokes. Next I am thinking my Silver Pipemaster before dinner and then finally my Gold Pipemaster for after dinner.

So who likes this idea? Is this just way over the top in the dedicating circles or is it pure genius? I am thinking pure genius as it was my idea. Dedicating to certain blends could get real complicated and since I can barely remember my own name I figured to keep it simple. Now admit it if this thought has ever come through that noggin of yours.

I don't think you're carrying this far enough. You should dedicate your underwear to a particular pipe and blend combination as well. I realize that you'll have to buy 6 more pairs to have a weekly rotation, but I'm certain that you will come to appreciate the benefits.

When I smoked cigs, I always sought out the pink lighters as they were FAR less likely to be pocketed by people borrowing them.

My underwear are all green. That's the main reason why I like Peterson so much.

I go one step further and dedicate my flints and wicks. It adds time to the ritual but I don’t mind. Gas lighters on occasion. I never use a wick on a rope tobacco, seems too cannibalistic.

I use Spanish cedar spills. Every time I buy a new pack I fast and meditate until I know which spill goes with which tobacco. Sometimes it takes days but the catharsis at the end makes it worth the effort.
