Every Christmas I find myself watching the weather reports hoping for a white Christmas. Odds are that won't happen in my lifetime.

Here where I live, we'll get a freakish snow that leaves a couple of inches, about every 10 years. In the 90's we had a "blizzard" come through and cause some damage, that was maybe 6 inches.

Of course when a snowflake falls in my town everybody panics and everything shuts down.

I love it for a rather simple purpose - It keeps the things I'm not a fan of away, minimal or small. I hate things like snakes, spiders, crazy plants that may thrive without that frozen cycle.

So I love the snow for it's purpose of giving me deer and bear over snakes and spiders. I'll shovel it every winter day if it means the next season will have even less of these things.

I love snow. Everything gets quiet and time seems to slow down. The smell in the air and the way light looks just reminds me of my childhood in Syracuse. We don’t get too much snow in Maryland but it probably makes me appreciate it more. I usually go for a hike in the woods to enjoy it.

In E Iowa , we usually get maybe 1or 2 " big " snow storms a year (8-10 inches) . Also usually get a week or two with low temps -10* . Not enjoyable , but hey, it helps keep the riff-raft out . ☺️

Would not like to live in one of the snow belt areas (Buffalo for example). It is not uncommon for them to get 3 ft dumped on them ! I don't know how their roofs can keep from collapsing !

I do. I don't care for the inconvenience of clearing the driveway at 5:00 AM to get people out the house, but I love everything else about it. When it's snowing it's peaceful and when it's done, it's beautiful.

I was born in New England during the blizzard of 1969. Except for a couple years I have lived here all my life. White Christmases used to be a given although snow days (school cancellations) were few and cherished. Now we get much less snow and many more school cancellations.
