I like the snow. Shoveling snow is OK, I just pace myself. I always come in when my beard starts to freeze. It is a tad annoying when my nose hairs start to freeze.
Somebody gave me a cloth Covid mask a while ago. Suppose I will have to find where I put it, when it gets nose-hairs start to freezing cold again.
Pull that ice out of your nose and you won’t have to worry about it for a few weeks!

I like snow a lot. I like that the whole state shuts down, so that we can stay home with our families during the darkest part of the year. Under 62 blankets with my wife and dogs, a freezer full of thawed out venison, watching the peach trees die off and cars go twirling down the road, as the flakes gently dither back and forth as they fall gracefully upon the driveway, that I have no intentions of shoveling away.

When we get snow here (deep south) it's icy and crappy... We don't get the powdery stuff like colder places get.

Last time it snowed here I about broke my back crashing down the front walkway trying to take the trash out.

I've been on high alert anytime the ground is frozen since then.
There is a skill to walking in snowy and icy conditions. Even I wipe out from time to time!

When I was a kid, trying to walk on the sheet of ice that was our front yard, I remember my dad saying, "walk like a penguin, shuffle..." To this day, when I have to walk across the sheet of ice that covers everything down here when it gets cold... "walk like a penguin, shuffle shuffle" goes through my head.

Yup. Shuffling is a good trick. At one time I had a pair of crampons I’d put on my boots if it got too icy out.
