I did a bulldog thread about a month ago, also well-subscribed, lots of good posts. I have a Dr. Grabow Royalton, a Johs, a Peterson Around the World, and two Stanwell 32's, a smooth and a Silke Brune. It's always seemed a compact, snappy-looking, serviceable shape to me, part swagger and part workhorse, so I was a little surprised to hear people talk about it like it was obnoxious. But that's art criticism.
I'm pretty sure that these two threads came out on the same day, because I posted in yours and then in this one later that day, if I am remembering correctly.
I think the shape is classic and solid, but it seems to be many stem gaps among the diamond shanks.
I've seen bulldogs and rhodesians in the 3000 dollar range with gaps, or uneven transitions.

Yeh, that Meerdog, is a beaut! And the rest of them just awe me!
Hoosier, what time frame for acquisition are we talking for the pipes, above? I mean, that looks like some serious dough!

That SRV is beautiful. Classic and good proportions. One of the most appealing pipes I've seen in a while. Enjoy!!
On Monday, my newest Bulldog will arrive. It is a Dr. Grabow Royal Duke with a silver band. I’ve really come to appreciate the Dr Grabow bulldogs. Especially, the now rare and very sought after Royalton Bulldog.
Not a Bulldog pipe guy. Not fond of Dublins or Pokers either. Billiards (straight or bent) and Oom Pauls are the sweet zone for me.
