Don't make any mistake about it, if you are posting in this thread you aren't a lurker, and that means you are in the minority here like on any forum. I have nothing against lurkers and certainly wouldn't say anything that might enrage them but I do wonder sometimes what they think of us. I sometimes feel like we are like fish in an aquarium for them, waiting and watching to see if one of us gets stuck in the treasure chest or if so and so bites so and so's dorsal fin off. I'm not worried per se, but I am concerned at times and I do wonder what they think about us as we pace these pages like suckermouths stuck on the glass of our cages.

As a former longtime lurker, I just came here looking for specific answers to questions. I remembered Tom because of his cool hat and frequently he was the one answering a question I had.

Hello all, lurker here checking in! I signed up four years ago and have amassed a whopping 68 posts! Well, 69 posts now!

To answer OP’s original question, I come here because this site really does have useful information about pipe smoking. Heck, just today the official Gawith Hoggarth contact posted his/her take on some of the content posted earlier in the thread. That’s connection to the industry right there.

And so many Google searches take me right back to this forum also. There’s enough quality information here to justify ignoring the personalities with whom I disagree.

I don’t come here for drop info or to clean out the For Sale threads. I’ve amassed my rations and I’m set for life. I don’t post much because I smoke the same old Falcon pipe and the same 10 blends over and over. Not much new for me to add to the discussion many times.

This “hobby” or whatever it is, is a better place WITH this forum than without, and that’s why I come around.

I’ve learned a lot on this forum and still learn something new almost every day.

The lurkers have found a good place, to learn why some factory pipes, don’t have the air hole drilled straight, and other such things every new pipe smoker needs to know.
