Surprised there is not more love shown for Flake Medallions. At 5+ years this stuff is sublime. Fruiter than Escudo and even sweeter than BEF. Fantastic stuff that's readily available and underappreciated. Definitely one of my go-to's.

Have some saved. But the fresh out of tin was little sharp on perique for me. I think mine are about 2yrs old. I revisit them in 3 more years.
It's one of the best coin cut vapers available. Not sure why it's not hoarded and cellared like you'd think it would be. The good news is that you can buy aged tins from Pipestud for very reasonable prices when it does show up.
I have to agree. It's the first coin I tried and in my opinion it's as good as the more famous ones, but different. I don't get why people aren't more into this one. It's so wonderfully tobacco forward and it's reminds me of leather to be honest in the best way possible.
I think I will stick with my tried and true VaPers.

Your loss. This one is perfect for demonstrating why someone could have multiple blends that sound nearly identical. And if you like the tried and true then I would bet a left testicle on you enjoying this one (not mine someone I don't think could do much to me about their loss). Seriously the stuff is just as good as any of the others I've tried. I'll put it this way if any of the coins of this style that I've tried stopped being made it would be sad, including this one.
nope. I am actually not supposed to have any, lost that right in the divorce. Totally agree actually. I am just a pushy jerk sometimes when dealing with tobaccos that seem to not get the love they are more then deserving of.
Great tobacco, I have been cellaring this deep for the last 10 years, so always smoking tins now with considerable age on them.
Flake Medallions = Escudo = DNR, subtle not significant differences.
It's way better than any tin of Escudo I've ever had.
I have PS Luxury Bullseye at bat, with Dunhill Navy Flakes on deck. Maybe I'll get some Davidoff up the road. I also want to try some Escudo and several other blends.
The cavendish makes it a different animal. I have to be in the mood.
It is a very nice blend that is available. I like it as much or maybe more than it’s competitors.
Maybe it's the price point or the tobacco house that it comes from I don't know but I'm thankful it is still being produced and readily available. If it stays that way I'll always try to have some in my cellar.
Davidoff is a bit more expensive than most American made blends, although when compared against Mac Baren it looks like a bargain. The other amazing blend that nobody seems to cellar is Reiner Long Golden Flake
Ok. so have to try Reiner Long Golden Flake now. I agree that this one really stands out not as better but significantly different then a number of other coins. The Cavendish really brings out some dimensions that I don't get in the others. Almost a generic tobaccoyness as weird as that sounds. Though I think coins just seem to kick ass for some reason.
I have an original sales rep tin that Davidoff gave to their reps before it was released. My salesman at the time thought it was a joke and was more interested in selling Davidoff cigars. I will crack it one of these days.
I second LGF. I opened a 2006 tin a few months ago and it was outstanding. The Perique was quite strong and almost made my eyes water.

I don't know how to smoke a pipe, and I think Captain Black and MM 965 are the same blend in different packaging, therefore Davidoff Flake Medallions are also the same so I won't try them either.
