Yes, I had bad turkey before. Sitting around with cousins waiting for the dried out dead bird. But my aunt was an amazing baker. There were always amazing desserts at the end. My mom never cooked turkey. It wasn't exactly in Korean list of birds to eat. Probably, too damned ugly.

Now, once I got married, that all changed. My wife can bake a turkey second to none. Well seasoned, moist, browned skin with all the fixings. Trick is an oven bag, McCormick rotisserie chicken seasoning, ton of garlic in the cavity and good amount of butter. We used to stuff it at the end after removing the garlics, but don't stuff it any more. Fixings are simple tasty, and filling. Thanksgiving dinner is one of those meals I always look forward to.

Now, as to the person who wrote the commie propaganda against one of the relatives of most royal bird, he just needs a good blow job, actually learn to cook, or find a female/girlfriend/kitchen wench/partner/them/they/lesbian-in-man's-body to learn to enjoy the "seven face bird"!

I don't cook whole turkeys anymore. I perfer to cook a 9 pound bone in turkey breast in a Dutch oven.

I personally kind of feel like if people liked turkey more it wouldn't be as rare of a treat. Frankly I can't really stand farm raised turkey myself. Wild bird actually has flavor.
So not reading the article because I don't care, but if the point is turkey isn't really as great as people claim I can roll with that.

I do feel that turkey is underrated. Like most meat being sold in local supermarkets, when not treated right they are tasteless lump of protein. But in the right hands with some rudimentary cooking skills, they can come out to be a treat. Cooking skills in America in general isn't really way up top. Since God knows when, people have been just putting stuff on their table to fill their stomachs than looking leisurely relaxation to be entertained with well made dinner. But I think that's being changing for last decade or so. Lot more people are enjoying food and searching out for culinary excitements. Experimenting with new ways of cooking old standards, and new and different cultures that came into our fold. Things are looking better and better for future American palates. So, go for juicy, well seasoned turkey this year!

I love turkey, but admittedly, with dressing, cranberries and gravy if eating hot. Skip the gravy with sandwiches and add some mayo and onion salt. Delicious.

Ham is a far superior protein.

We are doing turkey breasts as well. Too much dark meat left over. Also big birds take so long to cook properly.Will also have a ham. We will be feeding 17 folks tomorrow. Most we have ever hosted.

I am not sure if I like Turkey. But in truth, I have not given the bird a fair chance by ordering it in a restaurant. Work cafeteria and airplanes are definitely not the place to decide if I like a new food.

To show the bird respect, I would be cooking it myself for the first time tomorrow.

Spices are my specialty and roasting is my weakness so it would be quite interesting tomorrow.

Ah, I see they made sure to place kindling under it, too.

I will actually be doing a 14lb Turkey AND a 14lb Brisket on the smoker for the festivities.
