I want one of these Merrick's so bad, but they are sold out. MM told me they are awaiting a shipment of stems and then they will be back in stock.

It’s great for a shorter smoke…1/2hr to 45 min. And, I do like the look. Hopefully, you get yours soon. ️

My wife and I decided to run over to the antique store and look around today. I came across this corn cob pipe. It’s an old circa 1990 or older pipe made by H&B out of Washington, Missouri (bought out by MM in 1990). Right! I was really excited to find this H&B cob. Very little cake buildup in the bowl. A little bit of cleaning of the stem is required. And some minor cleanup of the rim of the bowl. I only had to get $15 for it. I thought that was a good deal.
You’re gonna see this baby on “what are you smoking“ in the near future.

If forced to choose, I would pick that cob over every pipe I own save one. It smokes so cool and is extremely comfortable. Plus for a newb I never have to relight it!

Here’s one for all y’all who think of cobs as short-lived and disposable.

Missouri Meerschaum from the 1950’s which sold for under 40 cents, found in a closet on Vinalhaven, unsmoked. Along with clay Jamestown style pipes, haven’t figured out how to smoke with these without overheating the leaf. The closest to a delicious smoke I’ve gotten with this deep chamber has require almost no tamp and very light flame.
