Climate Change and Its Impact on Tobacco Quality

Being someone who thinks politics is ALL bullshit, it is tough to talk to people, because everyone has all of these triggers, and if you step on them, they attack me as being "on the other side", which has made us dumb as rocks as a nation. We got dumbasses who identify as cats, people who think it makes them look smart to hate smart people, and shouting down anyone whom they think is on the other side is how we communicate. Is it even ok if I use the mens room anymore, and then "climate change"

So... when a question is framed with a premise, we are to automatically accept the truth of a premise, and discuss? Would that make you happy?

The premise is that the climate is changing. No one in the thread said it was man made, but that the climate is changing. The retorts I've seen in this thread are so.... whatever, that people have actually made the argument that the climate is not changing because it is always changing and always has. How dumb is that! You assume that because the two words are in that order that the OP is making an accusation about mankind's role in it. But, if you had actually read the words in the order they were written and followed the Alice in Wonderland idiocrasy of responses, you'd see this.

Right up there with:

There are a few more gems to rival it, but it's right up there. I love the crazy threads, but I'm just sayin.

Maybe if you just keep saying that everyone agrees the climate is changing it'll come true.

Nah... You walk into a room and want to talk about Climate Change, that term means something very specific these days. Walking Climate Change back being "just" a discussion about a change in climate may have worked years ago, but like it or not, invoking Climate Change in any discussion will steer that discussion into politics.

You walk into a room and want to talk about the weather, no one is going to start reaching for their guns.

edited to add... So, lets say we had twelve or so people who wanted to discuss man made climate change's effect on pipes gurgling. You guys would bully, stomp, and destroy their thread just to make some political point, and when called out on it, would be all, we weren't being political. But, you'd drive away any discussions that goes against some political point in your narrow little brains.

I couldn’t agree more. The basic response seems to be… those two words are triggering… and we look down on anyone who gets in a huff that is triggered on the left so don’t bring up words that trigger right leaning guys because like… hey… our skin is even more thin then theirs. The question was a fair enough question. It could have been addressed fairly enough - “I think economic policy or changing regulations have a greater impact… etc” without the typical rhetoric of a tribal dance or a ritual Hake. And again, if the words trigger someone so much, one has to wonder why such individuals don’t use the ignore button? Some poster in the south of France asks a simple question and is unable to enjoy having a respectful conversation jusst because.

Ha ha, this thread should have been a one pager and done, maybe two if people started discussing terroir more and how the flavors of tobacco have changed with the environment. But instead we get 6 pages of Twitter style chest pounding with obviously blatant politics thrown in.

That's not even close to what happened.If you read the first page you'll remember.

That hypothetical you posed wouldn't make a good analogy.

It would be more like a thread saying, all pipe smokers agree that climate change causes the wet gurgle.

Somebody may chime in and say, "No they don't, dry your tobacco." Haha

Maybe my brain is just way too small and narrow to understand... So excuse me, but what is the political point you keep accusing people of making?
