I believe that is why people find it so relaxing. You have to settle yourself down to smoke it.
I really like my churchwardens.
I typically employ the "lazy" method when smoking them. This is where you slouch down in your chair and just let the pipe rest on your chest and don't use your hands.
If you attempt this method be sure not to become too relaxed and fall asleep mid smoke.

I take mine to smoke while walking through the woods.
Good looking pipe! Definitely not helping my resistance to looking for another!
I'm usually sitting at the lake watching the sunrise before work or walking through the woods with a pipe. A pipe and nature just seem to work together.
