Yes, quite true. I just see myself lower down on the foodie ladder because I don't often eat in top restaurants or buy expensive wines and spirits. I am fairly serious about my cooking, especially bbq and smoked fish and sausage. The next pig hunt in Texas will involve a side trip to the bbq greats.

We're very lucky to have so many talented chefs form China and Hong Kong migrating to Australia. Especially to Sydney and Melbourne.
A big factor was the welcome mat put out by successive Oz governments after the Tiananmen Square incident
