I'm wondering... Have any of you been interested in an Elio? I would like to know if I'm the only one here who wanted to buy one.

I handled this discussion in another thread, but I feel like I bought a new car when I went against my Scotch thrift and bought Michelin tires for my 2015 Mazda 3, with affirmation from Forums members. The original tires had aged out. These give the ride of a larger more expensive car. I bought them at a Discount Tire franchise sale with the fourth tire costing $17, which was okay.

I remember a lot of controversy with the Elio, and I believe, it still never made it into production. Apparently many folks put down thousands in deposits for one, I hope you were not in that group!

Now Elio's founder is reporting that they will build an electric car. I'd wait to see one before plunking down an cash.

Nothing but controversy on this maker, better run away, don't walk.

The story of Elio sounds a bit like the Dale and con-artist Liz Carmichael, remember him?

My first car was a 10 year old 1964 Valiant that looked just like this except for the mint condition, lol. Nothing remarkable about vehicles since. Now I have the vehicle I wanted when I got the above Valiant I could afford in HS - 2 door Wrangler. First thing I did was take out the back seat - now only have to put up with one human passenger max. Of course, others enjoy it!

First car was a Ford Consul reg no 723 BPO
Lost count of how many cars I've had.
Most loved were the pre 1970s Jaguars, especially the Mk 2

Now, I'm desperate for for an Austin A35, slow, but so cute.
Trouble is I don't have a garage at the moment, and if I bought one, I fear it would get stolen the first night here in London.

The 50s/60s era Consuls look pretty cool - love looking at Euro cars of that era!

it had less than 10,000 miles when I got it. It belonged to an insurance agent. After he got it, he decided it wasn’t fast enough, so he got a Porsche 928. Then he decided his wife wasn’t fast enough, so he got a girlfriend. In divorce court, the judge said, “Either give the Mercedes to your wife or get rid of it.”. He told me if I picked up the note, I could have it. I kept it until about four years ago.
I rode in a friend’s spitfire one time. Man was that thing fun

I woke up a lot of response and power in my car simply with a cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust. LS engines tend to like those things.

My first car was a 71 VW Bug my dad, who owned a body shop, built for me as tires up restoration. It was gorgeous. Like this with a black interior.

My favorite car was my 2008 Honda Element. Comfortable, easy to clean and a big enough back for my dog. I planned on driving it until it fell apart but it was stolen and they destroyed every panel on the car. It still ran so we gave to my son who had just learned to drive.

I had two Mazda Miata's, a 94 and a 95. I regret selling the 95. It only had 23K miles on it. This was my 95.

The most fun car to drive I ever had was my 2001 MR2 Spyder. Similar in spec's to the Miata, there is something about having the engine in the back that gets your blood pumping.

My current car is rather boring looking, a 2005 Jaguar S-Type Vanden Plas. If you've ever wanted a a Ford era Jaguar, now is a good time. They have depreciated to being down right affordable.
