Ok guys, Mortonbriar would prefer that the box stop at his place on the way back from out west. That puts yaddy306 in the hot seat. :)
The order for this pass will be:

Yaddy let me know if you are ready to receive and I will get the box in the mail.
Fellas, what do you think about extending the time that the box is kept?

We are still a fairly small group and it's making a lap pretty quickly. I'm thinking 2 weeks, or maybe 10 days, instead of the current 1 week. That would make the pass last longer and we could keep it in constant motion instead of taking a rest between each pass.
Let me know what y'all think.

Cheers, Jim. :puffy:

Roger that Dean. I will get it in the mail tonight or tomorrow.

Will post pic and tracking number then.
Gents slownumbers39 has joined the box pass as well.

I will update the list and send it out again and we'll squeeze him in on this round.
Cheers, Jim :puffy:

Keeping the box for 10-14 days sounds great. Petty distractions like work and eating tend to get in the way of smoking so I'd appreciate a longer turn around time.

Extra time sounds good to me as well. I was smoking like a madman trying to get to everything I wanted to try last time. Not that I minded though :puffpipe:

Ok guys, sorry for the delay but the box is finally on it's way to yaddy306. It's full to the top and I had to repack it twice to get it all in. Don't be afraid to take more than you give fellas. :)
Tracking number is: 0104314000166563

I will update the list and add slownumbers39 and get that out asap.
Thanks fellas, Jim

8O Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there not a gigantic bag of stonehaven in the middle of that pile?

Drezz I am pretty sure it is just a Stonehaven sticker on a bag of aged horse manure. This is a ploy to keep us away from trying to buy any and hence to make it easier for the person who donated the bag.
A clever idea Chris but I know what you are up to.

You are indeed correct drezz. Our good friend shikano has once again made a very generous donation to the box pass. A big bag of Stonehaven and a big bag of Margate and some hand made tamarac tampers. I think Chris has contributed to the box more than anyone and he's not even in the pass. Top notch for sure.

Alright!
The box pass landed today at 1710hrs, Saskatchewan Standard Time.
5.2 lbs (I have no idea what that is in metric) of goodness, all in one box!
I will post some pictures soon. The box contains everything from a pipe stand, bee's wax and hemp string to big ole bags of Stonehaven and Margate. Partial tins of Pirate Kake, Five O'clock Shadow, McCranies, Golden Days of Yore, and a tin of Three Nuns that someone paid $46 for. A full tin of Odyssey, and big Ziplocs of English blends, Virginias, and aromatics. Plus some bags of STP blends.
Some very cool tampers, a 2pipe antler rack, and some plastic pipe stands round out the package.
Awesome!

After a palate-cleansing meal of butter chicken and salad with blue cheese dressing (oops), I'm ready to get down to business.
I'm going to pass on the STP blends (not because they're not good, but because I've tried them all). I'm also passing on the aromatics, and the Pirate Kake (because I'm boycotting any blend that spells "cake" with a "k". What is this, Grade 7?)
Expect some less than adequate reviews in the coming days.

I am looking forward to this round of the Box Pass as well. Some interesting product in there that I have been wanting to try.

The first of some minireviews. These are based on single bowls, so my first impression might not be a fair representation.
Cornell and Diell Oriental Silk

This one is dominated by the izmir. The sourness comes from either the izmir or the perique, although I suspect it's the former as I don't get the perique burn on retrohale. I can't taste the Virginias much at all.

A bit astringent, in a refreshing way.
