Yeah I was going to ask, how well sealed is this hot pocket?

I live outside the states but ship all my stuff to a family members place in NC. They said they could "smell the baccy" from outside the shipping box. Now I'm thinking maybe I need to teach them how to jar it up over the phone.

Mine was vacuum sealed. As soon as my knife slit the bag I got the seal breaking "whoosh".

My two packages arrived well sealed but did have a fragrance. Out of curiosity I washed them with warm soapy water and no more aroma.
By the way I'm enjoying the tobacco .
It's goood. ?

I don't think you have to worry... The heavy plastic used to seal the tobacco up will keep the tobacco for a minimum of 5 years. Most manufacturers use a type of plastic that was developed to keep tobacco fresh for 5 years.

Plastic is permeable, so the smell does come through to a certain extent.

As I mentioned, plastic is permeable, so I don't think I would be washing it with Dawn dish soap... Any scent on the bags probably came from being in a factory with tons of tobacco laying around. Most if not all of my C&D brick tobacco goes into Mylar and is stored away in totes, as I don't expect I'll get to it for a number of years.

Smoking my first bowl and impressed. The oriental is the dominant component but not overwhelming. Lots of the normal tart flavor but more sweetness than with many oriental blends. I attribute this to the Virginia and Cavendish. I'm not getting much from the DFK but the blend has a fair amount of body. Very, very smooth, something you don't see with most VaOr blends until they have a number of years on them.

Excellent blend, I'd buy two more pounds right now if SP still had it.

Didn't notice any Orientals but I did get a lot of cigar hits the further into the smoke.

I have my brick of Folklore sitting in my cellar right now. I haven’t opened it yet, but I get a weird spicy bubblegum kind of smell at first whiff through the plastic. It’s a strong smell even sealed, dominates my cellar just sitting there. Very unique for sure, and makes me excited to try it.

I’d guess the tin note changes a bit once I crack it open and actually jar it, but we’ll see.
My brick also had a strong smell through the plastic. Not a leak but a faulty seal. Not a big deal if you catch it. Not complaining at all, I’m happy with the state of the tobacco.

I could also smell the tobacco through the plastic. Turns out the seal was faulty, not a big deal it happens. Also not a complaint on my part, but it would suck if someone didn’t catch it. I bet I’m not one in a thousand. The tobacco was in fine shape and I’m really happy with it.

My brick through the plastic was fragrant. Like really fragrant. I ran my finger lightly across the seal, my finger slid right in. Bad seal. Not a big deal if you catch it. Happy smoking to all who scored this.
