That's a nice range of choices, and each is truly different from the other though all have a good dose of burley.I just purchase the following:
Briar Fox
Pegasus
Old Joe Krantz
Mac Baren Golden Extra
Hopefully that will give me a good reference point. I look forward to trying a couple of the others suggested also.
My only experience with Dark Fired Kentucky if ODF and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Too bad it’s from Portland , I prefer to buy American?. Just kidding, I will look into it.I just got turned onto Rich's Cigars (Portland, OR) Retro Grandpa. Burley based with five different ingredients, including unflavored Cavendish and Dark Fired Kentucky. The cost is steep due to Oregon taxes, but it's worth a try.
Damn, John! I've never been tempted to try Pirate Kake....until now!Well, maybe you would like to, it is a suggestion, you can also try, C&D: Pirate Kake, the burley will come out of your ears. You will float in a cloud of burning charcoal, scorched flesh, and trumpets of the apocalypse. It is one of the best I have ever tasted........
Pegasus is a good one. It's one of the few blends for which I have a dedicated pipeI received my order today much to my delight (standard shipping came quick!). I had time for a quick bowl after dinner and tried the Pegasus. Definitely can taste the Burley. Nice mild smooth smoke. I could smoke this all day.

Hello friend timt. For my taste, it is one of the best C&D blends. I have smoked this tobacco fresh, I don't know how it will be, when the few tins I keep, will be 5 years old or more. Too bad I can no longer buy from smokingpipes because of the current problems with customs and other anti-smoking policies. They were always very attentive and helpful. A great company SP. Try it friend timt, and tell us your sensations.Damn, John! I've never been tempted to try Pirate Kake....until now!
