Bowls Per Ounce?

Leaving @chasingembers out of the discussion what would you say is the average number of bowls you get from an ounce of tobacco? I'm looking to buy some of my favorites in bulk, but I've never taken the time to calculate / track this and I'd like to know so I can order appropriately.

Just looking for an average. Disregarding petite bowls or the tin busters that chasingembers prefers. If enough people who've tracked this respond a median number should emerge.

Nope, the bowl is the part of the stummel the chamber is drilled into.

I have never counted but I seem to remember that average size bowl, 50g tin should yield between 18 to 23 bowls. Seems a little high to me. Maybe I smoke larger bowls. If you search past post you should find some info. I know it was discussed in the last year or so.

About 25 - 30 bowls per 50g tin.

Doing some math in my head. I would say 16 to 18 pipes worth in a 50 g tin for me.

buzkirk has it about right. I'd guess an average of ten. I have a range of size chambers, but I suspect I smoke the medium and small more than the big-big chambers, for reasons of time, and sometimes to work in more variety, since I have a profligate variety of blends. Chasing makes a good point, on bowls versus chambers, but I sometimes shuffle the terms, probably because I think of packing a bowl, not a chamber. Bad diction, wrong word choice.

Consistently 20-22 bowls per 50g tin of ribbon cut, and one folded flake per bowl.

I use 12 bowls per tin when making cellar purchases but get 18+ in practice so I have a very comfortable padding.

Sometimes I'll weigh out my tobacco before I pack it, so I'm not drying any excess. Seems like anywhere from 3-4.5 grams/bowl, depending on the tobacco and the pipe. So, at 28 grams=1 oz, that's about 8-9 bowls per oz.
