Best Pipe Filter

I probably broke the rules by starting a thread, search did not help.

I had a "cheap" filter and the paper barrel came apart and left the plastic stuck in my stem. Hence forth I am looking for recommendations for a good pipe filter.

According to many Forum members you can't go wrong with Vauen Dr.Perl filters. Available in 6 and 9mm.

What kind of pipe and size of filter ? Vauen (Dr. Perl Juniors) invented activated charcoal filters but filters vary in size depending on the filter company and pipe stems vary in size depending on the pipe company. Vauen tend to get stuck in Savinelli's because they are a bit too thick so stick with Savinelli 6mm filters which are longer and thinner. As for 9mm Vauen are very good and so are Peterson.
