Do it! I plan on expanding my set when my kids get older. It's great fun. In the meantime, I'm really into weathering trains and learning more about that process.A room sized scale train set is something I've considered as a project for my retirement. Love those things.
I have a huge number of Kato(N scale)trains. When I was a kid, my Grandfather had a fantastic set-up in the basement ~ and it filled nearly the whole of it. Today at a stop light a college kid in car next to me saw me smoking my Butz Choquin calabash and was greatly impressed, especially when I told him it was hand made in France ... he asked what I was smoking and where I got it. I suspect he went off to buy a pipe. Everything old becomes new again. Who knows he may become a member here someday. We all get just one lap around the track.
