I don’t feel a need to store stem-down to enhance drying but I don’t generate gurgles too often when smoking. Exhibit A is a lousy rack as it practically necessitates upside storage of bigger pipes or ones with bent stems. Exactly. Having made a good number of that folks have been using successfully, I contend it’s simply a matter of preference. Do you want to see them bowl on or side on? How much space do want take up? Is it for big pipes, little pipes or both? Awhile back I posted some pictures of one I had done and explained why I designed it as I did.
