Earned my white robe in Journey:

IMG_6029.JPG
Will be going for one or two more runs to test out my new flying abilities, make a longer scarf, & to get the extra embroidery on the robe for 2nd & 3rd journeys. Game looks even better than before thanks to my mClassic scaling up to 1080p, although my pics are bad.

Also, Battlefield 3 servers will be shutting down on November 7th, noooo!!!! Final goals are going to be trying to hit 5k kills on my M40A5, & maybe 10 Sniper Rifle Medals, & 10 Accuracy Medals. I can probably hit the 5k, but the medals will be tough mathematically with the time left & opportunities remaining. I'm at around 4600 kills, & I have 9 sniper rifle medals, & 8 accuracy medals. Still shooting with around a 30% hit accuracy & 80% headshot kill rate, & I'll check those again right before the servers shut down.

I've been playing a lot of No Man's Sky on the Switch lately. After mocking it unceasingly for years, I finally bought it and gave it a try: it's turned out to be a pretty enjoyable game
Haven't tried it myself, but I do watch Internet Historian's video on it every couple months.
If nothing else, gotta respect the developers for their commitment to taking what was a broken disappointment on release and trying to fix it. Respect for the consumer and honor, right there.

As for personal gaming... Eagerly awaiting the arrival of unlanded gameplay in Crusader Kings 3, and trying to decide what to do with that first (Chinese adventurer in Byzantium? Missionary of some rarer religion in some neglected corner of the map? Turkish mercenaries?).

Meanwhile, trying to finish all the current achievements for Holocure before they add more stuff in the near future (need to catch a golden fish and an axolotl, hit Manager Level 4 on the little farm, and max out Fandoms for a dozen or so of the characters)

This, and SwitchUp videos, were two of the main reasons why I bought it. The team has spent years improving the game, rather than simply giving up. I respect that dedication: it’s extremely rare.

Frankly, it deserved mocking. Just like Aliens: Colonial Marines got mocked for not delivering on its promises, or some of the modern "live services" games get mocked for constant money grubbing when they tank. But unlike, say Concord, the developers of No Man's Sky did the honorable thing and kept working on the game, and trying to deliver on some of the promises and give players a rewarding experience. Which is rad. I know it's gone from my "mock list" to my "want to play" list.

Hopefully its still on sale by the time I get paid So i can finally get Baldurs gate 3.
That's what I am currently playing. I was really excited to play it given the near unanimous masterpiece reviews. I have really come to enjoy RPGs over the past 10 years or so. I've gotten into a bunch of different kids, Actions RPGs, JRPGs, turn-based SRPGs, etc.

....But I had never played a D&D based game before. And at least for me, the learning curve has been pretty intense. I guess a lot of games have internal mechanics similar to dice rolls, just with RNGs or whatever, but between the dice system, learning all the terminology and statuses (I.e. concentration, advantage, etc.), spell slots, and a whole bunch of other stuff it's been tough for me. That said, I have started to enjoy it a lot, and have gotten more comfortable with it. I almost gave up because I kept getting my ass served in combat, but in addition to the mechanics, I think you're just a bit underpowered in the beginning, so you don't have as much margin for error.

I am glad I'm playing it, though, and might explore some similar games like the Divinity series when I'm done.

We got Starlink a few days ago, and I fired up Team Fortress 2, which I haven’t been able to play since 2019. I guess I’ve played a few hours of that.

I put in about 800 hours back around 2011/12ish. Had lots of fun right up until the marketplace first opened up. It was already starting to loose its luster once trading and randomized drops were introduced though.

I have been playing a lot of StarCraft 2 lately.
