Ignore the order, these are my go to straight virginias. All very nice, in the right pipe of course.
1. C&D Yorktown
2. Capstan Blue
3. GLP Union Square
4. Newminster No400 Superior Navy Flake
5. PS Luxury Twist Flake.(although I hear this has a topping)
6. Low Country Natural Virginia
7. Cobblestone Chess Rook Flake.
Thanks for the suggestions. I picked up the Capstan and Newminster already based on some previous suggestions. Will work on some of these on the next order.

newminster was ok but overall seemed lower quality than other offerings.

Really not one to claim knowledge of Virginias, but lately been enjoying Full Virginia Plug, FT Cut Blended Plug, GH Curly Cut Deluxe and more recently Huber Golden Virginia Flake very very much. Issue is none of these are easy to come by in the US.

These are the straight Virginia's in my cellar, they are all flakes. . I have no red virginia's in my cellar as that stuff burns my tongue off. A TR next to a name means tin ready, no drying time. I prefer a bit of moisture in my flakes.

Yep, I enjoy Virginia #1 as well!
As I mentioned, this one kicked my ass when I first started pipe smoking. I just grabbed some more the other day to re-try it and I have to say that since I am more experienced; it really is pretty good.

I am looking for some advice/suggestions on some straight Virginias to try. I just recently started on Virginias again after learning how to slow down and sip a pipe. (My first experience with Mac Baren's No. 1 Virginia went horribly wrong years ago...my tongue just recovered...) I had a friend give me a pouch of Amphora Virginia Blend and I really enjoyed that. My next one was Royal Yacht. That to me is some wonderful stuff.

I am gravitating to the sweet, citrusy hay type flavors.

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated!
Solani 633, Rattray’s Hal O’ the Wynd, Royal Yacht, and Orlik Golden Sliced. Orlik has a bit of Perique in it but it’s not noticeable.

633 has Perique, Hal has Kentucky & Perique, Royal is topped with plum - so not straight Virginias, although they may be delightful blends.............

Capstan Blue is a benchmark. My fave has been SPC Hogshead, but Watch City Rhythm & Blues is coming up fast. I’ve got a bunch of each of these blends cellared Just so I’ll never have to do without.
