I’m no signature specialist but the op pic isn’t even in the ball park. Hell, theyre not even the same sport! I bought a Fredrick Phol book at a used book store that had an autograph in it. I did a search for his hand, and the sample was damn close, if not the same.

I'm not saying I know for sure it's fake but, judging from the images I posted of authentic signatures from Alfred Dunhill, I'd have to assume they are fake. The OP, I presume, was reffering to Alfred Henery Dunhill by middle name.

The writing reminds me of Jimi Hendrix's version of Gloria, where he misspells "Gloria." At least Jimi had the excuse that he was smoking something other than pipe tobacco.

Exactly. And who is Henry? I take it to be Alfred's son, named Alfred Henry Dunhill. Not too much of a stretch to suppose that the son went by his middle name, to distinguish himself from his father.
I think a number of us jumped to the conclusion that it was Alfred who had written the script in the book. But if you go back and re-read it from the point of view that it's the son's writing, it makes more sense. For those of you haven't followed the OP, Forciori knows his stuff. I'm sure he'll be along to clear up the air.

I see it as the son, signing on behalf of his father. And as to the style of writing, if you think of very stuffy Victorian- aged men, sitting around puffing on a pipe or cigar, saying "raaather", "pip-pip" and "well done, I say", then it makes more sense. Upper crust, and all that. Tally-ho!

Here are authentic signatures by Alfred H Dunhill, I assume you didn't see them in my original response. Every signature, inscription, or autograph I have ever seen was identical to these. The signature in the image posted by OP doesn't even remotely compare to these verified signatures. I doubt very much OP's signature is authentic unfortunately.
