Outrageous score there pawpaw.

Your thought of taking it to the Richmond show is so very right on. Don't open it until you are actually at the show. A tin such as that would be best appreciated in a group of like minded folk.

Even if it were somehow, "off", in taste the drumroll moment when opened and tried will still be so much more than if done on your own.
Luck!

Open it up and smoke it. :) It should still be smokeable, I can't account for the taste though!
Just pour the contents into a bowl and lay a damp paper towel over the bowl (dont let the towel touch the tobacco).

Steve Fallon might be able to give you an estimate on what it's worth, he specializes in vintage tobacco. He's a great guy and very knowledgable.

Oh man....... What store did you find that in? I check the store downtown monthly and I ain't never found anything like that  I work in Statesville. Let's get together and smoke some of that stuff, cause I have a tin that was gifted to me recently that is about 5 years old that we can compare yours to.

if i didnt have to go back to work next week i was tempted to go up to C&D's and see if Craig would like to compare this to his Epiphany
Rehydrate it and share it with Craig, Hobie, and whomever else you can find. Make it an occasion, an experience like that is priceless.

Smoke em if you got em. There's few ppl on the earth that can say they have smoked something that old. No amount of munny is worth memories; both good and bad.
I do hope you'll take more pictures and do a solid review of it. Take it seriously. It was made before you were born.
Happy smoking. :puffpipe:
