Winter rye grass. My front yard and orchard are on a slope, and we get tons of rain in the winter. It helps keep my topsoil from washing away. Plus, I like the exercise.

Damn, half my town is pissed because I won’t be Batman, and you guys want me to be Santa. I wouldn’t even be able to keep reindeer in Alabama. The rednecks would be picking them off like a venison duck shoot in my backyard.

An amazing thing happened today. I received a package from Mr. Grinch who apparently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee! I was expecting a toadstool sandwich or a lump of coal, but upon opening the box I was greeted by the following thoughtful and wonderful surprises. Apparently the Grinch is really Maria since she personally autographed a CD of her songs to me, I always knew the women cannot resist a smooth 'cutty' pipe! Thank you Grinch and may you and your family have a Som Besths Christmas!
