How many posts before the “Lurker” goes away under my username? It sounds so negative - I just want to be a “might stick around” guy.

Negative? Well, we were going to call them "Lil' Bitches" till folks got all... bitchy about it. Then we toyed with the idea of calling them "Neophytes" but too many people had no idea what that was. Lurker is what we call those who watch the threads before joining... so by calling newbies lurkers, we give them a certain number of posts to prove that they are no longer lurking. This was way less offensive.
