after several months of smoking Granger the horrible bite finally got the best of me there is no way this is like what Grandpa smoked, I'm back to good ol' Prince Albert since i'm an all day pipe smoker it has no bite at all.
I pour out a pouch worth at a time in a pan and let it sit on the open oven door with the oven on warm for a couple of hours. I dry it just about bone dry and body heat from a leather pouch in my pocket softens it back to just right. By the way Granger is all I smoke and it's pretty moist fresh...
Every time i find Granger on sale I pick up two or three more tins for the stash ,I'm trying to only smoke just one tin a month but its a little difficult sometimes
Yeah the cocoa in Prince Albert goes great with coffee, i so wanted to like Velvet but something about it didn't agree with me moist or dry it left my mouth and lips raw and food had no taste for days.
i smoked Prince Albert for about 12 years it is a good smoke just wish i had tried Granger sooner, its what my grandpa smoked but he was a coal miner so he chewed red man in the coal mine because of fire and explosion danger.
i still have jars of tobacco that my grandpa grew himself 60+ years ago, now thats one strong unflavored smoke with a nic hit that will make you dizzy if you puff too fast.
Velvet is way too wet from a fresh pouch gonna need to dry out a little to stay lit ,I'm not used to the fruity flavor but hoping it grows on me because i really like it not having any bite at all even smoking it hard and fast
