    Banking the Fire

Sounds about right. Some of the best tamping advice was simply, tamp lighter than you think you need. Just the slightest press works.

    What Does “System” Pipe Mean?

Their 9mm pipes are really nice. To clean the chamber I just run a pipe cleaner that I’ve bent the tip back on and swab it out like a civil war cannon 🤣. Doesn’t take but a sec. I don’t know that it really matters if you dry your tobacco and sip. I have a straight 106 that I can’t tell a...

Let's Grow some Tobacco this Year!

That’s awesome fur coat. The smell of those barns in August is so good when they have the heaters on and that leaf curing. Do you store it or use it right away?

    Hello from Denmark!

Welcome! Man, what many of us wouldn’t do to have a pipe made by our grandfather! Congrats, and enjoy your stay. Most folks here are way better than some of the complaining/ grievance threads you may find. 🤣 We are a peculiar lot.

    Lightheaded and Not Sure Why

Here’s what I learned as a new guy. 1. Holding smoke in your mouth (to make rings 😀) puts more Vit N into your bloodstream. 2. Puffing like a choo choo train makes me feel bad. You don’t smoke a pipe like a cigarette. I bet once you get the “sip” down, and enjoy the taste without holding...

My Pipe Smoking Buddy is Gone

Sorry to hear this! Are you going to get another dog? Some people find it does help when they are ready. It worked wonders for my grandparents after they lost their pup.

The Joy of a new Zippo

I recently got the butane pipe insert for a zippo. The light has no “zippo fluid” taste anymore. For cold weather ops, you have to keep the butane warm in your hand or against your body to get it to light much below 32F/0C.

    Thoughts on Vauen Pipes?

I have two. They are certainly German craftsmanship and engineering on display. Both of mine are big solid pipes that are great for a chair, but not much for clenching. The matching of the wood and stem is flawless, and their 9mm filter system is the best in the industry. Highly recommend you...

    J.M. Boswells - Chambersburg

What are your thoughts on their house blends? Northwoods is the only one I’ve tried.
