    Danish Sir Walter Raleigh

There’s an earlier post elsewhere to let the SWR air out with the lid off or partially covered. The vinegar (PG replacement) will dissipate and the good stuff is still there. YMMV.

Why Are There (Almost) No Pre WW2 Vauen Estate Briar Pipes And German Estates Pipes in General Available?

What’d they use to say- wear it out, patch it up, use it up, or something to that effect?

    Best affordable pipes?

I’m just here to say GRABOW. They are the dependable bic pens of pipes and your grandfather probably enjoyed smoking his Grabow made pipe from the mountains of NC. No matter how I want it to do something different, my Grabow ( one in particular) is a better smoker than the Peterson 317 I want...

    Post your Lunting Accidents.

Grabows make the best luntmasters. 30 bucks and they will outlast your current vehicle after being treated like a rented mule 😆

9mm Charcol Filters vs Meerschaum Throwdown

Correct. New versions are white ceramic on both sides. The old “blue towards you” days are over for Vauen filters!

9mm Charcol Filters vs Meerschaum Throwdown

I thought 9mm was 9mm the world over but vauen filters fit with TEUTONIC precision into my vauen pipes and have a little bit of play in my Petersons/dunhill. Peterson charcoal filters also work well but for quality, Vauen IMO is the world leader for a few cents more.

Have I Damaged My Pipe In My Early Attempts At Pipe Smoking?

Can’t enjoy the experience worrying. You’ve got her looking good! Enjoy.

Tobacco type vs pipe type, a beginner question

As a skill is over learned it goes from being a conscious task, into an automatic behavior. Repetition. The best way to start IMO is scooping a codger blend and packing with your finger when you think you’re ready to become one with the elements 😀

Tobacco type vs pipe type, a beginner question

Never truer words have been spoken on this forum 😆

Is this cake starting or is it burning out after 2 smokes?

All good. Relax and enjoy. Worst case if it catches on fire or is destroyed you can buy a Grabow for 30 bucks that will last you years even after being treated like a rented mule. 😀

***What Are You Smoking, September 2025?***

SWRA, the GOAT blend… Consistently hits the spot. It ain’t fancy, it’s just good.

What Is the Future of Pipesmoking for Younger Generations?

I think many of these transnational and global governance institutions have lost much of their credibility and that consumers and freedom loving people will get what they want well into the future. The center cannot hold.

Take 9mm Filter Out After Each Smoke?

Let us know what you think. Paper does nothing for me really other than keep the gurgle away, but I really like activated charcoal.

Take 9mm Filter Out After Each Smoke?

As always, it’s about your perception of the experience but I think that system pipe is going to have to be smoked with well dried tobacco and also very slowly without a filter. A filter can cover poor technique, and I think it can also enhance the experience with tar removal and drier smoke...

Take 9mm Filter Out After Each Smoke?

I have seen no research but it seems that reusing charcoal filters is just being cheap 😆
