    Not active here recently, jumping from one crisis to the next . Such is life....a bowl of Mac Baren's Plumcake. A tin I have had for for a minute. Wish I opened it sooner. Such a great lazy tobacco...no prep, no drying, stuff and puff, and and delicious. Smoking my Vauen bent acorn .

    At a guess you're probably smoking a little fast and hot. The extra drool is kind of a defense to cool your mouth off. Slow down, sip some water or other and relax.

    I smoke anywhere I can get away with it. One of the more public places in my town is a river walk where we will get out for an after dinner bit of time in the outdoors now and then. I get a few odd looks, but no one curious enough to strike up any conversation about my pipes.

    A little ranch water, and some Low country OR/VA...a really solid combo imo. On a very rare occurrence my only smoke of the day...for unknown reasons.

    MM legend cob is a great starter. Can be had for about 5 bucks, and I still smoke one even though I have 40 or so other pipes to pick from at any given time. I also have 1 with a forever stem which is a nice upgrade.

    I don't know of anyone with problems related to the cob materials. That being said the more traditional cobs like the legend etc. I smoke without a filter so they have a very wide open draw. As a result I tend to pack a bit more firm on the tobacco than my briars.
