    Questions for Leonardw

I still find it difficult to grasp that the whole of sutliff brand/factory wasn’t profitable. Similar to C&D strategy in releasing limited releases in huge quantities and still selling pretty fast, I think a re-haul to sutliff strategy/vision with their sourcing of tobacco’s and market placement...

    Just in from STG/MacBaren/Sutliff

Well… isn’t that unfortunate. I actually thought Bengal slices was one of the better blends available out of his portfolio, sales wise. Seems like it isn’t. A surprise similar to Mac baren’s HH series.

    Just in from STG/MacBaren/Sutliff

If anyone has any idea or comments from Russ, please share them. I am sure he used to be in this forum a while back, so I do hope he comes once again and gives us any insight on the future of his brands/blends.

    Just in from STG/MacBaren/Sutliff

All that, then to close 2 huge factories, discontinuing nearly 99% of their portfolio, and leaving blenders wandering in the mist. Look at KBV and his statement on sutliff closure...nobody knows whats happening. Yeah, let STG close all the factories and one day to 'save some of these blends'...

    Just in from STG/MacBaren/Sutliff

Yeah, indeed a shit show. It is actually unfathomable how much we are losing. I think STG are trying to integrate us to the masses were each person is satisfied with just smoking either creme brulee or captain black. My advice to Leonard is just to pretend you lost your password, and never come...

    Just in from STG/MacBaren/Sutliff

So if Hearth & Home, John cotton, Bengal slices, and War horse are all discontinued, then it means that no other brands made by Sutliff or Mac Baren are safe. That sums up the fact that SPC, Savinelli, 90% of Mac Baren and many smaller house blenders / brands such as mixture 79 are all, soon to...

    Falcon Corncob Bowls Enquiry.

Did contact them, unfortunately they don't have any for falcons. Thank you for your suggestion.

    Falcon Corncob Bowls Enquiry.

Hello everyone, I have been searching for falcon corncob bowls either estate or any pipe makers to turn me one, but yet to succeed. If anyone could lead me to anyone who is willing to turn a couple of corncobs to fit a falcon stem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

Hey, some little fun won’t harm anybody, except when the fun of clenching a pipe turns into a horrid nightmare.

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

If you zoom in the picture, you can see the blemish is not even on the side of the crack. And I didn’t bite the stem. I do let it hang in my moral teeth and usually on top of my gums, like my other pipes. I will work something out soon for sure.

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

On a smaller note, the marks on the bottom of the bit is actually some unprofessional work I done on the bit ONLY with wet sandpaper, and I guess some scratches ended on the stem itself, so it wasn't from rough handling a 15 grams pipe. The button was too sharp and circular and was irritating my...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

I did contact Tom via email, his reply or one of his associates was that " The "seller" will take care of you" even though I explained my situation in detail and provided the images, plus informing them that I came to them specifically because the seller wouldn't corporate in replacement...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

I respect Tom eltang, and just more confused how both his and the seller assessment is a “bite trough” not realizing the ridiculous circumstance of it happening in just 2 days, while also offering half compensation for repair…as long as I pay a good 100$+ to ship it back or else “ there isn’t...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

To make it clear, I asked the seller 3 options: refund me, replace the pipe, or the simpler option, just have a return request by any shipping courier for me; basically paying for the return of the pipe and fixing it for me. He refused all those, and he is claiming he can offer me a deal next...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

I second this. But, as shown in the photo above, I have a vintage peterson belgique with a small stem, and it's making is around the 1940-50's (the military mount version) which held just fine all those years, and when I bought it about a year ago on ebay, it held fine with my clenching...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

That is exactly what I was thinking. Im not an expert too, but I have many first hand experiences with other pipes, with smaller stems that didn’t cause this. Nor do I remember clenching it tightly between my teeth. Its been 2 days, even if I did, is it really that easy for a stem to give in...

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

I wouldn't mind hearing others opinion too, but I never realized this vulcanite stem is more prone to bite throughs than all my other vulcanite stems, including corncobs with plastic stems.

Bite Marks — Or a defect?

hello, yes it is new pipe and not an estate. I do clench but let the pipe hang and in some instances I rest my stem back in my moral teeth, in other situation let it hang between my teeth and the button rests on top of my gums. I never really bite my stem, especially a pipe as light as an eltang...
