    Smokers Haven of the Southtowns - Buffalo, NY Area

    Had a quick visit. A cool shop with decent stock. NY excise tax is insane and makes significant tobacco purchase difficult but they had a nice selection of tobacco and their handmade pipes are pretty cool. The family seems nice as well. Will definitely be back.

    I have 1 Cavicchi and it is one of the best smoking pipes I own. The stem is quite comfortable to me.

    ^^^This^^^. Probably one of those things it’s not worth overthinking. Smoke what you like. I don’t thing the presence or absence of PG will change the risk factors of smoking much.

    Smoking my first bowl of Waltham and it is fantastic. More heft to me in the vitamin N department than Slices. Overall a solid wonderful smoke.

    SG Commonwealth = Creamy

    Nice review. I love blends with creamy mouth feel. Don’t think I have tried Commonwealth or if I did it was many years ago. Some other blends that have some creaminess to it for me are SPC Plum Pudding, 965 (not sure of the current version - I’m still smoking bulk from 2000) and Kendal Cream Flake.

    Haven’t tried it yet but I believe it is the same components as Regents Flake but slightly tweaked for the plug format.

    Red Raparee is more oriental forward I think than black Mallory. I don’t think I’ve tried either of the knights so I’ll leave it to someone more knowledgeable to answer that one.

    Yes, they have repeatedly stated that there has been no change in the sauce l bell but many of us have repeatedly noticed that new versions are barely flavored. That said, they are still great blends but not the same.
