Cool selection. I’ve tried Cuban and No Name from your selection. Love them both. Bought 8oz of Cuban on my last order. Haven’t had a bad Peretti blend yet.
I used Steve at NWFJ. A member from another forum recommended him. It was $50 for the overhaul and $20 for the angled nozzle, including shipping. Works great. He is quick and responsive. steve@nwfinejewelers.com
Dark Fired Kentucky is a tobacco type that is used in a lot of blends. It is smoky, full bodied and on the stronger side. HH ODF was a blend that celebrated it.
Yeah. Great lighters. I have one like the gold one that was my father-in-laws. It sat in a box for over 15 years because it was non-functioning. I finally read about getting it overhauled. I think it was like $75 shipped, including a pipe nozzle conversion. Fantastic. My favorite lighter now.
If you like Irish, the Gawith blends in the dark range are worth a try as well as the ropes and twists. Samuel Gawitj 1792 or Cob plug, Gawith and Hoggath Dark Flake, Dark Flake Aromatic, Dark Plug, any of the brown ropes.
Hard to replicate because the process and tobacco would not be available. My guess is Per’s blending style will produce great blends whoever the processor is but they will be very different to what MacB produced. Even STG producing MacB blends has a different end product.
Definitely check out Ken Byron at kbven.com He may not have Halloween specific (but he may) but always has intriguing things coming out and usually has some seasonal stuff. Warped has Scarecrow which might be released each year. Watch SmokingPipes for that. It’s a candy corn flavored blend but...
Great stuff! I cracked a tin the other day and glancing at the tin art I noticed for the first time in almost 25 years of smoking it that the actual name is THE Apéritif! It’s like find out after 25 years that you’ve been living in THE Bronx all this time. 🤣
I think the point is that they choose to purchase abroad because it’s cheaper, not that they don’t purchase. Same reason I don’t typically buy in NY, where I live. Much cheaper to order online out of state.
