    Straight Pipe Smokers

Well, my new (and first) straight pipe arrives tomorrow! I'm excited and will try and post a photo. Who knows where it will lead in the long run, but I'm sure many more enjoyable smokes are headed my way.

    Straight Pipe Smokers

Yeah, I think I'll give it a try.....and what better excuse for a new pipe! :puffy:

    Straight Pipe Smokers

As a noob, I've been partial to bent pipe shapes , however I've read where some experienced smokers have gravitated to straight pipes even though they started with bent shapes. I like to be able to clench easily and also have a good view of the bowl as I light it, but my question is what is it...

    How Old Is Everyone

The big 5-Oh for me! I picked up my first pipe and tabak back in '98 and, after a few failed attempts back then, started again in Dec 2017 after finding my original tins in the back of my closet. Now I'm truly able to enjoy it as it was designed and loving it!

    Estate Pipe Question

I didn't think of that. Now I'm a little scared. I can definitely smoke slowly, as I'm finding out how much more flavor I get from my tobacco, however, for that kind of money, I'd rather be worry free. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!!

    Estate Pipe Question

Being such a noob, I'm not sure what to ask. I also wonder if they would honestly be able to say that it could not become an issue in the future, you know. Now, I generally struggle a bit to smoke ALL they way to the bottom, but if there was a fix that was simple enough that could almost...

    Estate Pipe Question

Yep, that's the one! If not for the issue (and not trusting I could repair myself) I would totally go for it. I love the shape

    Estate Pipe Question

Yeah, it was charring at the bottom of the chamber so that's what flagged it enough for me to ask. I've never experienced a "burn out" but have seen some terrible pictures and would rather not chance it.

    Estate Pipe Question

Thanks, Guys. Yes, it is a pipe from SP and I think I'll follow your advice and hold out for a pristine pipe as you recommend. I'm definitely not the most experienced smoker and would hate to end up worsening an issue that already exists. However, I must say I really appreciate SP for noting...

    Estate Pipe Question

Hello, everyone. I am currently considering my first estate pipe purchase and need a little advice. The one I am interested in rates a 4.75/5 and has "mild charring at the bottom of the chamber". Is this charring anything to be worried about? It's from a very reputable vendor. Let me know...

    Blue Fingers?

Thanks, Click! I'll give it a go.

    Blue Fingers?

Just to add, I haven't smoked it hot at all, but went ahead and polished all the "excess" stain off. I'm ready to wax it. Can I use a automotive carnauba wax or get something special?

    Blue Fingers?

In the future I'm sure I'll stick with natural colors, and in the meantime I've polished this one until no more is coming off and will put on a coat of wax to try and seal it. It's a great smoker, so even if this doesn't work I'll just deal with it. Thanks again for the advice!

    Blue Fingers?

If this works here are a few pics. The one with the stain on the cloth was just after wiping for a few seconds. I'll keep at it until it stops coming off and then keep enjoying it.

    Blue Fingers?

Thanks for all the info! I think I'll try polishing until it stops coming off and hopefully I'll have similar results to Dot and will like the results. I'm sure it is from the 2015-2017 Peterson range, and am a little disappointed, so I appreciate the other similarly priced suggestions. And...

    Blue Fingers?

I had one bowl of aromatic that wasn't quite dry enough and did get rather warm, but other than that I'm smoking rather cool. It's the strangest thing.

    Blue Fingers?

I've recently acquired a Peterson Atlantic Series Bent Apple (03) and really enjoy how it smokes. However, I've noticed it stains my fingers blue where I hold it?!? Has anyone else had this problem? Will it stop by itself or do I need to seal it or something? Any help would be appreciated...
