    Mineral Oil For Faded Finish

I use Howard Wax-It-All on briar and stem after every smoke. This stuff is beeswax, carnauba wax, and food grade mineral oil. Works great and keeps things simple. Try some!

    How do You Brew Tea?

Punjana loose and Punjana tea bags. Small Sadler pot with stainless basket strainer similar to Brown Betty. 5 minute brew. Splash of milk. Reverse osmosis water with addition of Keto Chow Electrolyte Drops. I drink this all day every day ‘cause I’m an Ulsterman by heritage.

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

Since you seem to like small chambered pipes, you might need a Peterson 406.

    Another Reason I Appreciate Laudisi/SmokingPipes.com

I just bought three pounds of PS Luxury Navy Flake from a vendor in West Virginia. It arrived today and included some of their Holiday Blend and a lovely pipe tamper/knife as gifts. The Xmas spirit personified!

    Cleaning Cobs

I finger twist the appropriate size drill bit to clear any gunk in the shank and follow up with Everclear and a bristle pipe cleaner. BTW, the drill bit clears the left over wood fibers that are left by sloppy drilling at the factory. MM should sharpen their drill bits occasionally. Pipe cleaner...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

Smoked a bowl of Coniston Cut Plug in an MM Legend. Not worth a photo, but delicious! It has just the right amount of sauce too. No…I really mean it….really…and I don’t think Bob was involved. Really.

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

Enjoy! I have a waxed tin cloth vest and a green wool vest I bought many years ago when they were affordable. Now I can’t afford their stuff and at 75 years old who needs indestructible gear.

How Long do Lakeland Toppings Last When Cellared?

Tempest in a teapot. Too many members with too much time on their hands. Boring and why I come here less and less often.

What Are You Listening To? - December, 2024

Messiah. The ”Beecham 3” recording from 1959. Huge and majestic! No anemic period instruments for me or Sir Thomas!

    Lighters vs Matches

Djeep lighter when I’m reading (only one hand available) and matches when not. I prefer matches but I read much.

***What Are You Smoking, December 2024?***

A bowl of 1/3 Three Friars and 2/3 Derringer in an MM Rory after jarring 24 oz PS Luxury Navy Flake. On deck: a bowl of G&H Dark Flake Aromatic in a Peterson Junior Squat Rhodesian. Drinking hot Punjana tea with a splash of milk.

    My 1st Falcon

BTW, although Roger Moore wasn’t as cool as you and me, he smoked a Falcon!

    My 1st Falcon

How hot the smoke is primarily up to you and your technique. However, aluminum is a great conductor of heat so you may feel it in the stem. I tend to “sip” my smokes so heat is rarely an issue, and Falcons are some of the coolest pipes out there. Welcome to Falcons: the Nash Ramblers of tobacco...

    My Journey into Burley Blends

Give C&D Three Friars a go. Mostly Va with a dab of perique and very pleasant addition of burley condimentally. Easy entry into burleys.
