Morning smoke. Sad day. Learned earlier that one of my 3 favorite tobaccos, Bengal Slices, is now no more. Discontinued. I have a bit more than half a tin left, and I'll spin that out as long as I can. But had to reminisce with a miniature full of it. T'will be sorely missed, t'will, t'will.

Early afternoon smoke, a continuation of homemade cigar trials. Same picture as the other 'cause they all look the same. This one loaded with Sunday Picnic.

Uhhhhh . . . nah. Ya know, cigars or cigarillos are more, to me at least, action oriented. This fella burnt evenly and tasted like Sunday Picnic, and I got 20 minutes out of it. But Orientals are more complex tobaccos, and every puff tasted somewhat different. To me, this is not why I go to cigars and I probably won't do this one again. Champagne in a tin cup.

As I mentioned yesterday, the efforts with monochromatic or one flavour aromatics (Sir Walter Raleigh and Capt Black Cherry Cavendish) were stellar, and both myself and my two buddies agreed, as good as any out of the pack llittle cigars we've tried. Don't know what tomorrow's adventure will be, but I'll post it when it's done.

First taste of Salty Dogs in a Falcon

IMG_7596.jpeg

It seems like I keep choosing VaPers lately, when what I really want is a big burley flavor; at first I wonder why I didn't choose something more flavorful, but then the flavors start developing, and I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.

That's what Salty Dogs is doing: it started out extremely mild, but the flavor really starts turning nice and rich as I go into the second third of the bowl, enough to make me want to see where it's going.
