Bulk substitue for St James Flake?
That's what I'd do if I had FVF, but I'm trying to find a substitute with bulk tobacco so I'm not at the mercy of hoarding or availability.- wesquire

Bulk substitue for St James Flake?
Ok, I got damn close to replicating what I like most from St James Flake (the dark fruit sweetness of the perique). I added ~15% volume of perique to the (1 year aged) LBF and I stoved it @200 for 3 hours. I'm still probably too heavy on the perique, but this sure is tasty.- wesquire

Bulk substitue for St James Flake?
Gawith's St James Flake is my favorite blend, but it hasn't been in stock in a long time. Has anyone successfully blended a close substitute? Does anyone have a good approximation of the perique content? I've been adding some perique to aged Stokkebye LBF and it is pretty good, but doesn't...- wesquire

PS Luxury BEF and Navy Flake
Tried some of my stockpile of LBF after a year of aging. Definitely improved, but it still doesn't get me as close to SG St James Flake as I was shooting for. If I add some perique is does better. Anyone have a guess on the perique levels in LBF or LNF vs St James Flake?- wesquire

Aw, gee, George!
Carlin is extremely overrated. Had some good bits but his delivery was bad. Norm was much better. Carlin started the preachy comedy schtick. That said, Carlin is absolutely right to call out people that think they are more profound for smoking a pipe, just doesn't apply to all pipe smokers.- wesquire
