Yes, like that! I didn't quite angle to those extremes, except a few strokes to either side. I did it slowly and checked often. Also I constantly rotated the stem about it's axis as I stroked. I tried the red rouge as well on the Perspex, it did get some of it out, but I wasn't able to get it...- monty55

Not really dipping. It's a paste, so I took a churchwarden length pipe cleaner and clamped one end in a small vise. Smear The Pink Stuff along the pipe cleaner. I'm quite familiar with how to remove external oxidation. Whitening toothpaste, dish soap, and or alcohol will not remove all past tobacco smells from the airway of all old ebonite stems, from by experience and certainly not from a Perspex stem (no alcohol allowed, per Jesse). Tinbids Observations
My observations on tinbids recently is that they increased their commision on tins sold from 15% to 18.5% and the high bidder failed to pay 30% of the time. I had to relist some tins 3 times! Purchased an old Barling with a clear Perspex stem that I couldn't get the stains and taste out of no matter how long I used flitz or soapy water. I found The Pink Stuff and had the airway cleaned and tasteing fresh after 5 minutes.- monty55

Yes! This is really great stuff for vulcanite pipe stems. It's much more abrasive than flitz or any toothpaste. It's vegetable based and has no harmful chemicals. I found it's the perfect choice for cleaning the airway on an old vulcanite pipe stem. Put some on a churchwarden pipe cleaner...- monty55

This might float your boat ... a MM Mark Twain, because they tend to have ticker walls. Get the "bent" version and combine it with a vulcanite Churchwarden Forever Stem. IMO it's going to be difficult to find a quality pipe for under $50 outside of MM cobs. Secondhand estate pipes notwithstanding.- monty55
