    NEW pipe & tobacconist

I haven't had their Mark Twain in quite a while but it was the first tobacco I ever put in a pipe and I do remember liking it. Maybe I'll get myself some sometime for the sake of nostalgia. Brigham has a good bunch of tobaccos out there. I have to recommend their virginia flake (bulk or...

    Question about Polishing

Well for stems and pipes I use brown tripoli and white diamond polishing compound but I have used rouge before with good results; though it's quicker with the tripoli and diamond. I got that from princess auto. You can even find a set of buffing wheels with a deal for mounting them in your...

    NEW pipe & tobacconist

Grats Barkar! Hah I love that place even if I don't love the price of tobacco in Canada. Those guys are great and knowledgeable too. Can help you find a cigar based on vague ideas of what you would like and deliver a good choice in all the price points without you even asking; they also have...

The First and Only of My Carvings

Well you could get yourself one of those calabash meer inserts and cannibalize it for an insert here...just putting that out there. Hell of a looker! I really like the look of it.

What Are You Smoking? April 2012

John Patton's Stormfront in my fine Paradis Freehand.

    Edward's Freehand

You say mushroom but my first thought was butt hole. Then again I am from the internet. Advance apologies for anybody who can't unsee that now. Not to say that it's a bad looking pipe though! Nice addition to the collection!

    Freehand 3 Experiment

As far as looks go I think the only thing that it would benefit from would have been a softer curve around the outside edges of the bowl and a countersink on the inside. But that's just me being very critical. It already looks pretty great! Some great shapes you're getting out of these blocks.

What Are You Smoking? April 2012

    Stormfront in a fantastic Trypis.

    John Patton's (Tiltjlp) Latakia Junction.

I had a feeling it couldn't taste that good without meaning to. Now I think I'll load up some Stormfront and start gathering my thoughts on that one.

    John Patton's (Tiltjlp) Latakia Junction.

I recently picked up 8 ounces of this from 4noggins because it sounded an awful lot like C&D's Billy Bud in the description and am I ever glad I got more than 2 ounces. What I've found is that it's downright delicious and I think I may like it even more than Billy Bud. That smoky latakia...

    Ennerdale, first impression.

Ennerdale also gets my seal of approval. Not nearly so "soapy" as Grousemoor (which I also like) with some fine flavours in there. A darn good smoke.

    Key Classic Tobaccos

Well there is Prince Albert. Classic as classic gets in my book and I like it a good deal.

    Canadian Get Togethers

Well every little while there's a pipe night here in Oshawa hosted by the local B&M Victory Cigars. Always a good turn out, some tobaccos to try, and usually a representative from Brigham there.

What Are You Smoking? April 2012

A bit of 4noggins Father Orin in my Royal Dutch squashed tomato.

    Courtley pipes

Mystery solved! It was an "economy" line put out by Custombilt. Hope that helped. Oh and this ad piece is from Rogers Imports Catalog, 1957.

    Sasquatch Billiard

Damn but that is one fine looking pipe you have there. Hope it brings you year upon year of enjoyment.

Mad Men - Pipes in Season Opener

I'm pretty keen on the show. I'm definitely interested to see where they take the new season. Oh what hijinks will Don Draper get up to now?

Upcoming Changes to Duty Free Limit into Canada (General Goods)

This is some astoundingly good news. What a pleasant change for things related to tobacco.

    My New Brigham

I personally don't use a fresh filter every time but after a smoke when the pipe has cooled I take the filter out and let it sit with a pipe cleaner through it. I find that dries it well for the next smoke. Great looking pipe too! A voyageur was my first pipe.

Lets see your stash (and I dont mean tobacco)

Well heck that just means you need a different wax! Cedar Hill Farm wax would probably be a good one as it's a great wax with no added scent at all. About the only smell you'd get off of it would be beeswax. I like the stiff stuff personally for its hold on the curl I go for but the soft...
