    Well since I got a lathe for Christmas I thought I'd turn something. What better for the first attempts than a tamper? So here we have them! Turned from oak and walnut. Try and guess which came first! Yes, I did figure out how Unclearthur did that magical little ring. :D

    I got a tin of Presbyterian, a pouch of Amphora, a micrometer and a digital locking caliper from my pop, and an old style lathe (step pulleys and external motor) from my mum. Oh the things that I will turn and measure! My family knows what I like. :D

    I certainly did. Had Christmas dinner with my dad's side of family and smoked some Amphora full aroma that I got (the thought does count) and later some Presbyterian. A pretty fine Christmas day.

    I can't seem to find the thread but it was mentioned that tapping your fingernail on lucite will yield a higher pitched tone than tapping vulcanite. So far that has proved true on all the pipes that I've tested it on.

    I believe they tried something like that in the UK recently but I may be wrong. They do however have something like that here in Ontario. Pretty terrible of them to think they have the right to dictate what people do but if you're smoking in a car (a home as well I think) with anybody under 16...

    That is a really great looking rustication. They both look great but that brass ferrule and the bend makes me like that one the most. I just love brass. It's like a blue collar gold.

    After some recent experiments it looks like it was given a honey rub and smoked only a few times, or its been reamed...upon closer inspection it looks to have been reamed and to a good level too.
