    Capstan & Tolkien

I ordered some a couple weeks ago from Estervals on sale for just 6.60 euro per tin, but I just checked their site and they’re sold out completely. Shipping was 34 euro but I ordered 10 tins, so I still came out way ahead. $113 for 10 tins (500g) shipped to my door. Not bad. *12 tins pictured...

    Tin/Label Art

Anything old timey. From the simple beauty of Capstan, to the slightly more intricate Elizabethan Mixture or EMP. Squadron Leader also rather handsome.

    New Castello

Apparently a Canadian has a shank length roughly 2x bowl height, so this is not that, as this pipe's shank is actually a few mm shorter than 1x the bowl's height. It has an oval shank, and apparantly that means it can't be a lovat. It's just a billiard. A very nice billiard :) It's not the 55...

    New Castello

Ah, good point! It was sold/described as a billiard, but the oval shank is longer than the stem which to me says Canadian but that's all just details, baby :col:

I’m in Oakland California in the USA and yeah there’s plenty of Guinness on tap, though I usually drink it at home. Six packs of bottles. I dream of going to Ireland for a proper pub pint one fine day ?

    New Castello

Finally arrived from Ireland, well, Italy via Ireland more accurately. My first Castello my first unfinished/natural pipe. Size KK billiard, or is it a lovat? Currently enjoying its first smoke, Burley Flake #1 ? with a nice cold Guinness.

Holy smokes!! (as we say where I’m from) And no I’m not talking about Three Nuns. I’m talking about Burley Flake #1 from C&D. My first time trying it, thanks to a generous sample from @Cicerolepipero and holy mackerel!! What a smoke! ??

Need recommendation for tobacco to be refreshed!

Interesting! It's one of the only burley blends I love because I don't taste a lot of burley. To me it's a nice balanced mix with just the right amount of rum.

    SAME.

Need recommendation for tobacco to be refreshed!

Watch City Slices. Reasons: you don't have much burley, and Slices is a burley/VA/kentucky blend with a very subtle rum topping that makes it excellent for the Holidays (and all year round). It also gets 3.7 out of 4 on tobaccoreviews, it's well-behaved/user-friendly, and it's not expensive...

    Ropp Failure

Interesting! Good call. It never occurred to me that the missing chunk of briar there could have been caused by the drilling process. The tenon does fit nice and tight. LOL, so this really was a silly thread after all. How embarrassing.

    Ropp Failure

While assembled it won't pass a pipe cleaner. I know this is not uncommon in the bent world, but it's annoying. I often get a gurgle midway through a bowl when I smoke bents, and I like to be able to quickly remedy that with a pipe cleaner. Yes I know I could do the wrist fling trick, or simply...
