Wheels of Time by Robert Jordan

I left off at book 6 I think. It was so long ago I would have to backtrack and re-read again. I got tired of waiting for his next book to come out. As for Sword of Truth- I couldn't get into it.

Posting pipe pictures on the forum

You can also load them to your photo album on this site instead of using a third party. There is a step by step here: http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/instructions-for-posting-pictures

    Making Anything Special for Superbowl?

Nice graphic Kevin! MikePhilips, I hear you. I always try to get my friends to toss around a football or play softball but they would rather eat and watch it on tv. Jud- we always watch the commercials more than the game. Especially since we work in the industry. We want to see what the...

    A Cigar Palate No Longer?

I am with you guys. I have a humidor full of cigars. Each one tastes very similar to me with some slight variance. And I HATE getting to the end of the cigar and having it taste like burned pretzel sticks. There's still a lot of tobacco left to burn and I feel like I am wasting money not smoking...

    New Box Pass Thread

Ok folks...here's my contribution to the box pass: Got the box on Monday or Tuesday. A fresh new compact box thanks to LordNoble: Opening it, I was treated to the aromas of more tobacco brands than I have ever heard of or seen before. This box has more variety than some B&M’s. I spread them...

Cleaned my Pipes Last Night (Olive Oil)

You are talking about using rubbing alcohol inside the pipe to clean it, right? I got some on the stem once and it took the finish and polish right off. What would you recommend to get it back?

    Corncobs are Under Rated

yadan- I have the straight version. Another thing I love about the cobs is their lightness, and therefore comfort, while smoking. I think you would be good with either the bent or straight in terms of how it will sit on your jaw. The rest is just about looks.

My New Tobacco and Storage (With Pictures!)

Good grief those warning labels take away a bit of the magic, don't they?

    Storing Tobacco Questions

I also have a few questions to add to the discussion if you don't mind: Is there any disadvantage to keeping baccy in zip lock bags? I currently have several baccys in 1oz volumes or less. That could get hard to stack with all those little bottles. When you store them in Ball jars, do you just...

    Corncobs are Under Rated

I'm still new to this but I haven't been able to detect much of a difference in flavor of a tobac in a cob versus briar. However, the briars that I own are heavily used estate pipes and that might have something to do with it. I always get a cool smoke from my cobs and they don't need fussing...

    New Box Pass Thread

The box has made it safely to me. I haven't had a chance to open it yet (late and then early work hours) but I hope to rummage through it and then have it out on the weekend!

Pipe Shops in New York City

I smoke at Nat Sherman's fairly often. I am working through their blends and I also buy an occasional cigar there. The gentlemen who work there are very helpful and friendly. If any of you are planning to go there let me know and we can meet up.

Are There Any Other Women Pipe Smokers Here?

Welcome! I hope to hear more from you and your experiences. I have many cobs in my rotation and a few estate pipes. The estate pipes have been so-so and require a lot of maintenance, in my experience. The cobs I have smoked have made me very happy. I too hope to find the right briar one day...

In Praise of The Humble Cob.

I love my cobs more and more with each smoke. They are always a relaxing and cool smoke. I recently received a grab bag order of them from MM and have McArthur, spool, patriot and others in rotation. They make me more reluctant to take a chance and pay a big price on a new briar when I get so...

Never say never - Erinmore Flake

Great post! I never thought of baking a blend. How do you do it? In the original tin? For how long? I think I have a few tobacs in the same boat as yours was- never trying them again, but I am open to give this a shot.
