A Cigar Palate No Longer?
I am with you guys. I have a humidor full of cigars. Each one tastes very similar to me with some slight variance. And I HATE getting to the end of the cigar and having it taste like burned pretzel sticks. There's still a lot of tobacco left to burn and I feel like I am wasting money not smoking...- chops

Cleaned my Pipes Last Night (Olive Oil)
You are talking about using rubbing alcohol inside the pipe to clean it, right? I got some on the stem once and it took the finish and polish right off. What would you recommend to get it back? -
Corncobs are Under Rated
yadan- I have the straight version. Another thing I love about the cobs is their lightness, and therefore comfort, while smoking. I think you would be good with either the bent or straight in terms of how it will sit on your jaw. The rest is just about looks.- chops

Corncobs are Under Rated
I'm still new to this but I haven't been able to detect much of a difference in flavor of a tobac in a cob versus briar. However, the briars that I own are heavily used estate pipes and that might have something to do with it. I always get a cool smoke from my cobs and they don't need fussing...- chops

Welcome! I hope to hear more from you and your experiences. I have many cobs in my rotation and a few estate pipes. The estate pipes have been so-so and require a lot of maintenance, in my experience. The cobs I have smoked have made me very happy. I too hope to find the right briar one day...- chops
