    My 4th Pipe I’ve Made ...

Here’s my 4th pipe I’ve made. If this isn’t the right area, please let me know. I used a Dremel, Files and Sandpaper as with the previous ones. This was my first try at rusticating (Dremel) I went chunky. This time though I was testing out a sanding disc I bought but haven’t used. I nearly...

I’ve still yet to feel nicotine from pipes. Can smoke 3 bowls in a row of the strongest stuff. Only cigars have ever made me nic sick early on in my 20’s.

    1 Grabow for 1 Year (8/2/19)

I have maybe 20 Grabows. Just used one for some Penzance 1/2 hour ago. Some are great pipes. I like Kaywoodie even more. I’ve got all types but a lot of those as I bought many to practice restoring, staining etc earlier. Grabows are just another pipe among many in my cabinet.

Pack It To The Brim, Or Not?

I leave it just under the brim. To prevent charring. Unless it’s a massive pipe and don’t want to smoke for 2 hours.

What/Who Influenced You to Start Pipe Smoking?

No one. Been smoking cigars. Saw pipes. Looked pretty. Figured I’d try. Bought a Bjarne at cigar shop. Smoked a few times. Didn’t like. Pipe sat for 10 + years. Was on cigar site, one an auction along with a tin of 1-Q. Liked it this time. So ordered some Plum Pudding and a few others...

    How Deep is Your Cellar?

I’m 1 year in. Have about 60 blends or so. Maybe 120 or so tins. Not quite sure. 60 open jars and then boxes packed away for long term. Don’t really know how much but it’s a lot for a year. Pipes are worse ... heh

    Kaywoodie Pipe Chart

It’s funny, when I got into pipes just over a year ago, I bought a lot of cheaper ones to practice restoration over and over. every month or so I go through these pipes and find a gem I didn’t realize I had. found an1933-38 Kaywoodie Supergrain 5151 in excellent condition with a beautiful...

    Matches vs. Lighters

I like to start with matches If conveniently around. Especially pipes prone to charring. seems easier to control the flame. less heat as others have said. I even bought some hemp cord to try. That lasted twice before the novelty wore off. I bought a Kiribi Kabuto short lighter last week...

    Am I Lazy?

I have neodymium magnets attached under my patio table. I fill old tins with cleaners, matches, filters and pipe tools stick to em easy. I have an extra to keep a tin on for the day. It keeps the table clear, family never notices of messes with my things and never need to go inside for...

    Pipe Smoking Activities

With COVID, it’s been limited to walking and parks but I’m taking my pipes everywhere I go. That’s not too helpful for the question, I know. Lol. Ive only been into pipes a bit over a year but in the deep end. I have more than I can count and love making them too. We are moving from a small...

    Mr Balandis Pipes??

This guy is the worst experience I’ve had on eBay and only negative feedback I have ever given out. Ever. He attacks everyone that has issues. I sent a long, overly nice message. Bought a pipe block. It came with half of it missing. Only about 1/2” of wood past the drilled bowl. On top of...

How To Clean Cob Pipe Rim?

Alcohol swab For corn cob rims. Not inside but the top. So easy works great. If it’s light stuff. Don’t need to worry about stain removal etc. I use them a lot for that purpose.

    Filter Pipes

It really is up to the person. I’m sure it’s been said. Some swear by em, some think they take away. I’m relatively new. One year in.. 70 plus pipes now though and every waking moment on em. Lol. I like them. I’ve got a good mix of all types. I mocked towards 9mm filtered when they have them...
