NEW - New York Pipe Club Tobacco Blends - Exclusive!

Yeah, I was bummed about Baron's flu missing the deadline, but very pleased that he liked the blends. I shamelessly stacked the deck, knowing that he was a fan of Russ' Black House, of course--so sue me! :nana: Seriously though, I knew that he had a really good palate for parsing out Latakia...

NEW - New York Pipe Club Tobacco Blends - Exclusive!

And here, his take on Hell's Kitchen Balkan Deluxe: Romeo Wood’s Mystery Blends Balkan Pouch Note: Rich and leathery with the distinct aroma of standing near a barbecue pit that’s warming up. It’s not a meaty smell, per se, but like the barbecue pit, you can get a hint of the meat and spice that...

NEW - New York Pipe Club Tobacco Blends - Exclusive!

After BaronSamedi's flu cleared up, he was able to taste-test the tobaccos and quite liked them; Murphy's Law, of course, meant that it was past deadline. To complete the panel, I'll include his reviews here. First, his take on Jack's Shanty: Romeo Wood’s mystery blends English Pouch note...

    Lapsang Souchong

Rishi Tea and Silk Road Tea carry some of the finest available in this country; the flavor profiles are myriad. To note, however, is the preparation method. This will get you started: http://www.5min.com/Video/Tea-Tips-Episode-08-Pu-erh-25193286

    Lapsang Souchong

What brand is your Lapsang Souchong from? My personal recommendation would be to pair it with a lightly sweet Virginia based blend; the character of the tea will serve to highlight and actually amplify citrus & maple syrup type notes. Off the top of my head: McCranie's Red Ribbon Orlik Golden...

NEW - New York Pipe Club Tobacco Blends - Exclusive!

YOU MUST ALL ORDER SEVERAL TINS NOW!! :nana: Seriously though, if you can't make it to the Chicago show, you can call Pipes & Cigars (or email) and get yourself on the pre-order waitlist now. Due to the guv'mint man, P&C doesn't sell at the show but I believe they can take orders. And thanks...

    Getting Rid of Pipe Breath

Hmm...my $9 tube of toothpaste has baking soda in it...and my fridge has a $0.79 box of baking soda in it...good call! You can also add a little hydrogen peroxide to it for a super scrub.

Alcohol Cleaning: Salt Vs. Cotton Ball

Do yourselves a favor and get a retort. Takes the process down from a day to around ten minutes, and works far better.

Some perspective: 2005, "The Demise of the Pipe Show"

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The money needs to flow in both directions in order to make the events sustainable, but the community needs to be developed alongside that in order to sustain itself as well. And knowing Kevin on a personal level, the guy's in it for the love...

    Everything Tastes The Same

CAO Cherry Bomb is a very good topping-forward aro, as is their Bella Vanilla. Try approaching them with clear palate and sinuses--think seltzer water, table crackers, and not having smoked for a good 8 hours before. Definitely check out Luxury Tobacco Reviews, I think I may have reviewed one or...

    GL Pease Tribute

If you want to try a fresh vintage, C&D's First Responders is the re-issue. It's a great blend, and with ~10 years on it even better. Definitely worth the $. Regarding the 1st or 2nd edition, it will be stamped on the side in red ink "2nd Edition Re-issue" and have a correspondingly later (2002)...
