    Cellaring tobacco - questions

Hey guys, A few noob questions on storing tobacco: 1 - I've seen multiple times guys suggest to cellar your tobacco in a mason jar or whatever for a few weeks before smoking it. What's going on here? Hasn't the tobacco been "cellared" on the shelf in the tobacconist for probably a lot longer...

    Suggestions for English Blends

I can't quite say for sure. I just find that I keep reaching for that for whatever reason. The first few bowls I smoked of it were transformative. I thought it was, by some way, the most delicious pipe tobacco I'd ever smoked. I thought I'd found something truly amazing. Unfortunately, for...

    Suggestions for English Blends

I think that's about right in my opinion as well.

    Suggestions for English Blends

Squadron Leader is worth a crack imo. I have a few English blends now I'm rotating, including Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap. But I keep going back to the Squadron Leader.

Denicotea (denicool) - 9mm Filters - For Pipes?

I bought them online, but I can't read the instructions (I bought them from Germany but don't speak German) ... and I'm a bit worried they maybe filters for something else (a vaporizer, cigarette holder or something, I dunno) and that if put one of these plastic-looking things in my pipe it will...

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

That’s pretty much the conclusion I came to in my other thread about Alcohol & tongue bite. I really hope I can find “a way” because I’ve invested a lot in this over the years. if it’s just my personal body chemistry then shit. What can I do? At least if it was heat bite I could learn to...

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

I wish I knew that before I bought a selection heavy on "Mac Bite". Haha. :) I just figured they were reputable so, meh. Can't be horrible.

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

Yes, as I said in the other thread, the more I read about it and learn, the more I'm convinced it's a chemical thing. I mean the smoke feels cool in my mouth, the bowl feels cool(ish) ... okay it feels "warm", but not "hot" in my hand, and my tongue doesn't feel "heat-scorched", it feels like...

    Alcohol & Tongue Bite

The more I'm reading about tongue-bite, the more I'm convinced it's chemical and not heat-related. Like I said, I sip slow and the bowl remains comfortably warm in my hand right down to the last bit (sometimes I even cup my whole hand around it because it feels nice - not at all too hot). The...

Aren’t You Too Old For That?

I have to reply to this due to your avatar and your name: I still run a regular game of 1st-Edition AD&D. And I'm building an app and starting a website for it too: Musing of the Pig-Faced Orc - The Pig-Faced Orc - http://www.thepigfacedorc.com I'm 44 whatever that's worth.

Getting back into Pipes - my "Newbie Trial Selection"

For those that have not read my other thread on Alcohol & Tongue Bite, a teeny bit of background: I have smoked quite a lot of pipes before, but always end up quitting because I really struggle to avoid tongue-bite. Anyway, I'm going to give it another crack. Bought a pipe with a 9mm filter...

    Alcohol & Tongue Bite

@SmokeRings79 & sandollars (and others who suggested tobaccos): I have blown my budget in tobaccos for now. Since I'm just getting back into pipes, and I live in Sweden where the tax is quite high on tobacco (not as high as in Australia where I come from, it's crazy there as I'm sure OzPiper...

    Alcohol & Tongue Bite

One of the things I appreciate about pipe-smoking, that. I've in the past smoked cigars and taken snus (that's a Swedish thing - a ball of tobacco shoved under the lip). I like them both, but they both present a problem for me: I can't do either one without a coffee or an alcoholic drink. And...

    Alcohol & Tongue Bite

Thanks for all the replies guys. I really think I just have unfortunate pipe-smoking genetics and a tongue that burns unfortunately easily. It's not the tobacco ... I've experimented with just about everything. Sure it's worse with heavy aromatics, but I don't really like those sugar-bombs...

    Alcohol & Tongue Bite

Hey guys, First post ... just for a bit of background ... I would say I'm a "novice" pipe-smoker, although I own quite a few pipes and first tried pipe smoking about ten years ago. But I keep quitting it because of the tongue-bite. Yes, I've read the other thread about the same, and of course...
