    Snuff - Ground Tobacco

Love snuff. I still buy it from my local B&M and use it in spurts --- sometimes throughout the day for a couple weeks, then sometimes none for a month or so. I love the nicotine "Clench" in the back of the throat. That is a great snuff box! I've always wanted one.

    Are Ropes About To Disappear?

Cosmic, I envy your ability to grow tobacco. I never took advantage when I had a big yard and gardens. I look forward to having my own house/yard again to try and grow tobacco. An apartment with vegetables in pots doesn't really lend itself tobacco right now. I admire all of you who have...

    Re-thinking My Cellaring Philosophy & a Surprise!

I just weighed out my jars (I know, sacrilege opening the jars!) after barepipe made me curious, and it's actually a total of 18.3 lbs between my tins and bulk. I estimated high. Now I'm more depressed.

Oops! My Wife Saw My Customs Invoice

Great wife. My ex would have kicked my ass. Probably indicative of why the whole thing didn't work. :? The more I hear about the taxes/duties paid in other countries makes me appreciate the relatively inexpensive tobacco available to us here in the U.S.

    The Ultimate Respect

What an amazing gesture of public service! Every community should be so lucky to have members who show such love and respect. I just shared this story with my boys who I'm trying to teach the importance of community service. Respect and props to your wife.

    Cant Stop Buying Pipes !!!!

Nice pipe. Gotta love a Sav. I rarely buy new pipes anymore, but sometimes one just "Speaks" to you. Good luck managing the PAD. I think that's a common affliction for many of us

    Re-thinking My Cellaring Philosophy & a Surprise!

Yeah, but I've been at this a while and much of that is tobacco I don't often smoke anymore. I'll probably give some away and keep some just to see the aging effects. That's just an estimation from the crapload of tins and jars I found. It might be 20# or 35#. I never marked the weight on my...

    Haddo's Delight Oh Yeah

Haddo's is very good stuff. It became, and continues to be a regular favorite, since I discovered it about 15 years ago. I have never aged it much, the oldest I've smoked is about 2yrs old and it was amazing. Good stuff fresh too!

    Quiet Nights by GL Pease

Hey npod, Nice stash of Gaslight! That is quite a special tobacco. I also enjoy Quiet Nights a lot. The two scratch a very different itch for me.

    Re-thinking My Cellaring Philosophy & a Surprise!

I haven't posted for quite a while, but thought I'd share my recent "Hard lesson learned." I was one of the people taken by surprise when McClelland announced their departure. Some of you may remember that I misinterpreted a post about GLP and thought he was done, so when the McClelland panic...

    Does Anyone Fish?

As a late friend of mine used to say, "It always comes down to a hot dog on a hook." Many times, we would throw out any lure or bait and fish would almost continuously jump onto our hooks. Other days, we would try every lure/bait/spray combination in the tackle box with no success... and...

McClelland: "We're Just Going to Close the Doors"

Very sad news for me/ happy for Mike & Mary. I'm a huge McClelland fan and always took their presence for granted. Luckily my secret santa sent me some #27 and Blackwoods flake (two of my favorites!) Also I have a few others put back. I discovered McClelland tobaccos about 15 years ago and...

    Praise for GLP and R.I.P.

That was exactly the intent of my post. Apologies for the misinformation, I read in another thread that he was pursuing other interests so just ASSumed (yes, I made an ass out of myself) that him and the other American blenders I like - McClellend, C&D, Russ - would not be able to bring any new...

My Carter Hall Has Been Perfect Lately

CH is a great, solid tobacco. I wish I was only in the mood for 1 tobacco any time. That would certainly make life easier. I admire your singular craving and am envious. I'm a spoiled tobacco whore and always crave something different.

    Praise for GLP and R.I.P.

I (fairly) recently posted a tongue-in-cheek review of Stonehenge flake titleing it my "Favorite disappointment." In truth, it's become one of my daily smokes and truly a favorite. I was lamenting the absence of the floral "Lakeland" flavor I enjoy so much (I'v'e discovered it's there if I...
