    Online US Tobacconists

Yes, I guess that is the issue. It is actually perfectly legit to send a gift of tobacco to Sweden (then there is no customs fee or tax). But such gift cannot be more than 50 g. But even if you limit one parcel to 50 g, adding the costs for shipment to the total, it would probably still be...

    Online US Tobacconists

Don't have too much experience of international shipping, but does not the tobacco shops smply have to state the content to post service when they ship their parcels abroad? And once customs know it is tobacco, they will check it and bill you for additional fees (duty + taxes). Standard routine...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Thank you all for contributing to this thread! I thought I would honour the thread by listing all those tobaccos that has been mentioned so far, listed by popularity. There might be some in the list that are not pure virginia, but I have not discriminated. The number of ”+” stands for number...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

I was just about to return to by Best Brown Flake only to discover that the darn jar was a "måndagsexemplar" as we say in Sweden, lol. It was a flawed jar that did not seal properly, so the flake had turned bone dry. Well, I tried to re-moist them, but I might get a new tin. Anyway...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Hello, fellow Swede. I live in the middle-part, so Germany, or Copenhagen for that matter, is a bit far. I also used to by online, from Germany, Switzerland or London (before brexit). By the way, do you by any chance know why European tobacco shops has stopped shipping to Sweden of recent years?

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Thanks for this input! Seems like you have built up a bunker of tobaccos for several life-times, lol. I will consider you recommendations, even if some of them are probably hard to come by in Europe. Peterson flake is one of my favorites. I never really thought of Captain blue as particurlarly...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

I have also stopped using sugar, I find that it has helped me appreciate natural sweetness from tobacco much more than before. It can be recommended for that reason alone, it makes pipe smoking better :)

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

I probably need to go back to FVF, it was so long ago I have forgotten how it is, but I remember it to be too stout for my liking. Im very into mellow and sweet blends now. I think BBF is one of the most difficult flakes to get enjoyment out of, IMHO, I find it to be very sharp. But Im glad...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

I'm up for it, and I'm pretty sure they don't have dogs sniffing for ordinary tobacco. Good tobacco is very hard to come by in Sweden these days. In the US the situation is totally different, you guys can get good stuff in bulk for very affordable prices (in Sweden you pay twice, or even third...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Thanks! That is actually my latest addition to my wishlist. Unforturnately, it is probably impossible to find it in Europe. Seems like I would have to travel overseas to get what I'm seeking. Or pay a courier to bring me some well sought for tobacco from the States to Sweden ;)

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Personally, I like the sweetness in Marlin Flake, and I wish it could be made without perique. The same goes for St James flake that I like. If I would find something similar but without perique, I would be happy. And yes, I know Marlin Flake has black cavendish, so if you also have suggestions...

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

Title edited for caps. Rule 9. I'm interested in getting some suggestions for pure virginia tobacco that is very sweet in taste. I am thinking first and foremost of pure virginia flake, but other suggestions are also welcome (but virginia based tobacco only, and not heavily cased or...

Pipe Retort: How Long to Let the Pipe Rest?

Alright, point taken. Not to take any chances I will leave it for a year or two. And I might have to buy one pipe for every day of the year to keep in my rotation.

    Online US Tobacconists

Yes, I know about Brobergs and other shops here in Sweden. But here pipe tobacco is twice the price compared to the US. But not only that, the types of tobaccos sold in Sweden are very (!) limited and I cannot find what I like here. I like to stay curious and explore new tobaccos every now and...

Pipe Retort: How Long to Let the Pipe Rest?

If so, I presume it will not only be a matter of not smelling the alcohol. However, an hour or so seems a bit short, since I can still smell the alcohol by that time. After just smoking a pipe I think it best needs to rest 3 days or so to fully dry out, some would prefer even longer. So... I'm...

Pipe Retort: How Long to Let the Pipe Rest?

The title edited for caps. Rule 9 I just cleaned a new (estate) pipe using a retort with isopropanol. Not the first time doing so, but I'm a bit excited to try my new pipe. How long do you advice to let the pipe rest before it is ready for use?

    Online US Tobacconists

Unforturnately, pipesandcigars.com cannot be accessed from Sweden, for reasons I do not know. Perheps they do not sell outside the US at all, and hence do not make their website accessible.

    Online US Tobacconists

I have ordered from all these shops in the past. Sadly, there must have been some kind of new legislation in Europe, because now they no longer ship pipe tobacco abroad (or at least not to Sweden). I don't really know why. Perhaps someone else does.

    Online US Tobacconists

Very helpfull! Smokingpipes.com ships to some countries in Europe, and to Sweden where I am based. Tobaccopipes.com and 4noggins.com also ship internationally. I will consider these options. Also good to know that smokingpipes.eu sells pipes in Europe. A lot of thanks to all!
